Loved it! Loved the atmosphere, stadium and the result. Defo going back when we are here again (hopefully March for the birth of next grandchild) for a soccer game this time.

PS sorry I had to call the beautiful game soccer

So what is going on with Gabbiadini do we think? I'm expecting he will be gone in January, he's had a **** time this season and now not even getting on the pitch. Wonder if he's thrown a strop at the players/manager.

Watching the Pep with Redmond thing, I like Pep’s passion.

I completely believe he rates Redmond, there could be one hell of a player in there, actually in the same way refer to Sterling. R.

He is likely to be so frustrated at wasting talent.

I hope it’s the kick up the arse Redmond needs, otherwise instead of referring to Sterling we could be saying Morrison. And not Ravel, but the ailing supermarket chain where we could see him collecting abandoned trolley’s.

I’m not sure it’s in his character to throw a major strop, but I think our plan going forward is to buy power and pace up top. Not necessarily in one player, but spread across maybe two.

Let’s hope the pacey one is our Theo...

Fell asleep just before the second half so didn't see any of the game.

Sounds like a really good performance and that we were a bit unlucky.

    Who's doing Bournemouth thread?

P.s. Fraudiola is a ****, really hope they don't win the league.

One of my supporting life's most bizarre experiences. For reasons too ponderous to explain, I was with a whole crowd of Reds fans just leaving Stoke when that goal went in. Not a single piss take was evident, but lots of warmth and sympathy. Didn't make me feel any better, mind. It was the moment when I was reminded how much Saints mean to me. Just hearing that the git had scored was like a stab in the heart, and I felt like I'd betrayed my life-long love by not being there.

Bloody hell. Football can be a right bastard sometimes. Consolation is in the performance, a very well worked goal and the fact we were beaten by a superb team. Consolation failing to kick in right now though!

Wasn’t that in the first half though, we wouldn’t waste time if we’re behind for a section of the 2nd half.

I know all the positives and how this bodes well for future games, but just gutted. I suppose being gutted after losing to league leaders should be a positive....but nope, still gutted.

Yeah, maybe just in the last 13 minutes I suppose. And during time added on.

It was a kick in the balls conceding, but I'm not going to blame the officials because I hate it when that particular boot is on the other foot and we're the ones chasing the game.

And Manchester United do? There are enough Manchester United fans living in Hampshire as it is. Another title win for the red half of Manchester will mean even more youngsters in the area donning that awful shirt. We want the youngsters to support Sountampton and the other local teams, so anyone bar United or Chelsea for the PL title for me.

Just a question for anyone to answer. Given that Manchester City have been a successful club and an attractive team to watch for a number of seasons now, has there been a surge in support for City? Are youngsters on the games fields in Northampton, Kent, Hampshire, the West of England, buying their shirts?

A commendation to long term City fans...it can't have been easy supporting the team when the other team in town was Man Utd in their pomp. And that support continued as they slid down the leagues. Rather they took the title than anyone else.....the bastards.

Yes the Manchester rivalry is sometimes under played. I recall a mate who is a life time United fan (born and bought up in Salford and everything) talking in the pub after the Treble season. City had won promotion to the Championship by winning the play off final. My mate cursed and said it had "ruined his season"! Now that's rivalry.

I know a few City fans and they are, in the words of Kevin Keegan, "loving it" at the moment. But they're starting to get cocky, I'm afraid, so we need a decent late run from West Ham to stop them being champions. Moyes has started so well, hasn't he?

Nothing new there then. These threads are all about a bunch of know it all amateurs telling highly skilled professionals how they should do their job.

Totally agree re. Sterling. Redmond has better technique and skills, but Guardiola has coached Sterling into playing fast one-twos around the box and getting in behind - something really we don't do which allows him to use his raw acceleration, which Redmond could be excellent at, if only he had players willing to find spaces and flick the ball around the corner to him - Sterling has De Bruyne, Silva, Jesus, Aguero who love that intricate play. Tadic used to utilise this a lot, not so much with his slump in form.

Only seen a 3 minute highlight video and had a brief summary from my Spurs mate who was at the game. I won't tell you everything he said as it wasn't very complimentary but he has seen some sense now and agrees that Boufal is quality along with Lemina.

I knew we had conceded late as my phone started going mental just after the Everton game finished which is never a good sign, but based on comments on here sounds like we put in a good performance and can hold our heads high and go into the Bournemouth game with confidence.
