We didn't, that was as boring as it gets. I'm in a good mood, so I'll put it down to tiredness and forgive the ponderous, repetative, clueless attack, and the way we sleepwalked through the entire game. The formation with Willian and Pedro seemed dated and unproductive, and Morata was ineffective and got a bit tetchy again. Thought Alonso was excellent , everyone else was OK with no real zip or excitement.
Oh well, the three points are needed so lets all have a good rest and try harder next time.

Not much time for rest because it’s Newcastle on Saturday and, like this evening, I reckon it’ll feel bloody cold for all our players from warmer climates.

yea, this 3-4-3 isn't great. Far too defensive as the wingers are dropping way to deep to defend and they are too far away from morata for give and gos.

Morata just isn't great in the 3-4-3 as the ball doesn't move fast enough for him to be played in.

Such a laboured performance. Also what happened to moses. He was terrible when he came on

Yeah Moses was dreadful. How about Renata Sanches though, was unbelievable against us in pre season with Bayern, didn't even look a pro footballer tonight, horrendous.

After seeing the lineups I was expecting a 0-0 tbh, especially with Hazard on the bench so more than happy with a 1-0. Awful game though, hope Saturday is more exciting.

Moses will obviously take a bit of game time to sharpen up and lose the fear of re-tearing his hamstring, so all things considered, ............he was dreadful !!!!
Sanches had the kind of game players must have nightmares about, an absolutely total shocker. I actually felt for him seeing pass after pass go straight out or 5 meters behind or in front of the other player. Poor sod. Only good news is he probably will never play that badly again.
Surely we will improve against Newcastle ?

Just saw that header from Tony. Impressive! Even strikers will not react that way to ricochets!!

would have taken 1-0 with that starting 11. Great 3pts.

We did the job but the deciciding factor wasn’t how well Swansea defended but our profligacy in front of goal. Swansea will be relegated for sure and must have been happy to still be in the game at the end. Zappercosta’s crossing was awful all night and needs to improve. Other than that everybody else had an ok game and hope we find our sharpness in front of goal in time for Saturday as Newcastle will be an entirely different kettle of fish.

You know, I think Zappa is actually a dynamite player waiting to happen. His positioning , his terrific running down the lines and his genuine pace and control at full throttle, are impressive. His crosses were pretty ordinary and if he gets more game time, I just suspect he might be a genuine rough diamond who needs polishing. Kante was bloody good again , better in the replay than the live game !!!!

Kante is always good but I think Zappa needs time to mature in the Premiership. His crossing was poor last night and I’m sure he will do better with time.

Yeah i mentioned that against Liverpool and he was the same tonight. Great energy, pace, comfortable on the ball, cuts in very well and goes down the line well. Fairly strong and can dribble and defend and is fairly tall.

The only thing missing at the moment is an end product as his crossing is always finding the first defender
