And that's one of the less-nice ones.

Gunwharf is an outlet centre, it's all discount it's not the high street versions of those retailers, it's like McArthur Glen at York.

I find Portsmouth/Southsea in general one of the most under-rated cities/urban areas in the UK. I've got a few friends in that area and I love going there. I'm not what you would call a shopper, as such, but there's something impressive about Gun Wharf, from the lay-out to the names it has attracted. I'd be surprised if Portsmouth has a higher catchment area or gets more visitors than Hull, even taking into account the ferry trade (which both cities benefit from, or at least should do). I'd love to think that Hull could do something as ambitious as Gun Wharf - I'd imagine there'd be space but it would involve a lot of upheaval - but I can't see it.

Still better than anything in Hull, not just for shopping but eating and drinking.

I would think that in a normal, non City Of Culture Year Portsmouth gets more visitors than Hull. The Historical Dockyard pulls in about a million a year.

Never took any notice I just went across on the ferry.
Walked around dockyard then in the Ship pub for a few before game.
The harbour area seemed a bit run down to what it used to be in the 70s/80s

Looks rubbish. It's not like the water is even the right colour.

What colour should should the water be?

Yes, Let's hope Hull doesn't get any rubbish places like that with 90 outlets, and no empty ones, and a load of cafes, restaurants and bars.
They must be jealous of Princess Quay.

View and the glass floor at the top of the Spinnaker is cool

I sailed a yacht past it on the way to Cowes for the couple of days (well I steered while a mate who actually knew what he was doing told me where to point it!)
