This is probably the bast place to post this: I feel as though Fat SACK has been like a guy who's really landed on his feet here. Honest to god this is a job he's no bloody right to. So far he's already set a real low threshold for self success as top half. Thats for the record 5 points away with a game in hand.... thats bloody EASY. This is a plum job outside of the top 6 clubs and he's landed in this after ****ing west ham, ****ing up sunderland who were dead men walking. Getting caught rotten in the england job he didn't deserve and then got the luck of walking into palace with them having benteke et al to stay up! he's deserved them too and left them in rag order and now he gets this job! Think about it: GK: Pickford. looking really good RB: Coleman might be back early janaury LB: baines hangin on there but stilll ok CBS: williams, jagielka keane. he might be in toruble BUT DCM: gueye and sneiderlin (If sam gets these interested and doing the job it can screen CM) ACM: he's got his pick, they are all slow.. but he has options: wingers: has a couple, needs one. ST: needs a striker If everton pony up 50-60mil and they get a winger and striker IMO they will fly. IMO this is a piss easy job to stay up and he has got 2 years more on top. he really doesn't deserve this on his actual record cos the guys jumped before disaster so has the rep of the miracle worker when in fact he's gone shag all to fix any club.
We are a laughing stock at the moment anyway so now i suppose is the right time to unveil our management team comically named Big Sam and Little Sam lol Ouch!! @astro I think Tobes meant new stadium etc in 18 months but you being you i can see why you would want to strech it that for lol
fat sam record 1994–1996 Blackpool - sacked in play offs in league 1. megson took over there. club went backwards and missed playoffs 1997–1999 Notts County left them to join bolton, was replaced by gary brazil. also league 1 team 1999–2007 Bolton Wanderers - his best period. finished 7th in his final year, left and sammy lee took over. 2007–2008 Newcastle United - first big error. nekie had 3 managers in this 2006/7 season including fat sam. Shepard appointed fat sam and then mike ashley bought out newkie. no fan wanted him and they booed him off the park. he lasted 6 months then keegan came back in. team finished 6th 2008–2010 Blackburn Rovers - ince was sacked and in comes the miracle man. they finish 15th then 10th the venkys sack him cos he wanted to go to some rich middle east club during summer but they blocked him so it went tits up. 2011–2015 West Ham United- joins in championship and vows attractive football then serves up long ball. they scrape up in play offs. he buys carroll and fans eventually turn on him for the dire stuff. he gets the sack eventually but it takes another 12 months and in actual fact his contract is run out by the cheap arsed gold and sullivan spivs. replaced by bilic 2015–2016 Sunderland - comes in as miracle man again and keeps them up by signing a few players. then jumps at england job. Club just delayed the inevitable and don't buy anyone. 2016 England: 1 game in charge after getting caught in a corruption sting. 2016–2017 Crystal Palace: 6 months at palace who had been in fa cup final the prior year. comes in, scrapes survival. blube have to replace him after he walks off and appoint de boer. Basically he's not done more than 6 months in job since 2015. He absolutely got despised by west ham fans for awful football. same at Newkie. absolutely hated. It seems an awful long time since his star was rising at bolton with JayJay okacha and they certainly punched above their weight. It is an interesting career and one thats actually gone down hill for about 10 years but he went form long term builder to short term fixer and has probably made a lot of money.
Great thread title that; Moyes ex EVERTON now WEST HAM Fat Sam ex PALACE now EVERTON Pardew ex PALACE now WEST BROM Hodgson ex WEST BROM now PALACE
add in steve bruce to this. sunderland have played this merry goround and could be in league 1 next year if they don't fix things. newcastle have been on it too and gong up and down. surely the lesson must be get a long term building programme going and don't sack the manager after 5 mins. Bournemouth have no right really to even be in prem but their work with howe and his control there has made them a stable prem club. West ham, newcastle and sunderland also have owners who are not very committed. Add swansea to that list.
And that’s why he has a short term deal at Everton. Sort the mess out and bye-bye. It’s almost like Jose, how he forces himself into only the biggest jobs. Delivers silverware and tricks owners into spending money they can’t afford on the best players.
Not forgetting the fat **** was in Fergie's back pocket, not forgetting he's been taking money underhandedly from the game even though he's already rich. I wish him the worst luck at Everton, sorry Jotl, PJ and Tobes.
I hope that come the summer and we are safe he is gone. Nothing like a Fergie conspiracy. See how Sam was always benefiting from high profile loans and united beating his relegation rivals while rolling over for Sam.
Best job in England outside the top six. I'd say it's a good job for him but probably not warranted based on recent activity. I do think he'll do well there given the chance though
I'm not really on about any conspiracy tbf, it's (as Rafa would say) a Fact that fat boy was on the phone to Fergie right after the match when he accused the Spaniard of disrespecting his team with hand signals after our second goal went in, Rafa was gesturing for us to shut up shop and sit on the result for the last few minutes. Almost simultaneously during Fergie's post match interview he said he thought Rafa's hand signals were very disrespectful and shameful blah blah blah to Allardyce's club before it came out.
Going to have to disagree about how you feel about Fat Sams ability. Annoying greedy fatty is bang on the money. He's a good manager though. He got Bolton punching above their weight for a long time and as soon as he went it all fell apart. I'd say he was the reason they were that high and not because of poor planning. Newcastle - the guy never got a chance. Admittedly his "style" of football might not have been right for them but he got half a season and if the fans never wanted you, you are never going to last. Was par for the course with that newcastle side Blackburn - again got them punching above their weight. As you say he got them 10th with a poor side. They went straight down as soon as he left which sums it up all really. West Ham - This is his 1 "failure" of recent times if you had to say so. Even though his failure was to cement the spammers as a PL side. West Ham improved rapidly after he left (on the back of payet) but now still look a shambles harking back to Sams period after spending loads of money. I would say Sam did okay with them during this "failure" Sunderland - managed to keep that shambles of a side up with some astute signings in the january window. Shame he left as i think Sunderland would have easily stayed up but Moyes managed to alienate all of Sams key players so they went down. Success Palace - The FA cup finalist you described had 15 points out of 51 points. Big Sam comes in Dec, struggles a bit as palace have 0 confidence, makes some great january signings (hello sahko) and manages to keep palace up from 26 points out of 62 so another success. Whether he can hack it at a big club is a different matter as he's never really gotten the opportunity but he's not a poor coach in anyway. Maybe his style (not that he's had the players to play a certain style, partly his fault for not trying) is what you like is a different point but he's got the ability.
Everton traditionally likes to play attractive football. Fat Sam has come with long football. Sad and very sad.
