It's a real shame what's happening to the Lord Line building, ideally it should be kept and converted into apartments or student accommodation. Chances are they will demolish it, and then leave it looking like a bomb site for God knows how long.

Press Releases Key Notice Decision notification: Albion Square - 28/11/17 The council have today published a Key Notice Decision to submit a planning application for the redevelopment of Albion Square. The notice will be followed by a report to cabinet on Monday 18 December seeking permission to submit the application and authorise a tender procurement exercise to appoint a demolition contractor. Due to the poor condition of the buildings, and the upcoming full ownership of the entire site by the council, approval is sought from cabinet at the earliest opportunity to ensure holding costs are kept to a minimum. The notice also highlights that, if approved, the planning application will include the council’s ambition to retain the Alan Boyeson mural on front of the BHS building as part of the wider scheme. A full cabinet paper will be uploaded prior to the cabinet meeting.

"All have at least one store in Cardiff, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle and Southampton, which the study regards as comparable city centres." I wouldn't compare any of those city centres to Hull's. Larger populations apart from Southampton which iscskewed by it having millions of well off cruise passengers passing through every day.

When you go to Gun Wharf in Portsmouth, a lot of those shops are present. I wouldn't say that Portsmouth offers anything we don't.
Gun Wharf puts to shame anything in Hull. Though where they could build something like that is another matter. Even if there was space the banks of the Humber don't lend themselves to anything like that. Of course they have a lot of visitors going to the dockyards and so benefit from that. I would never have been in the area if I hadn't been to visit the great attraction which is the dockyards.
