Got to be lip service for the media, surely?

He can't seriously think we can win the title with this squad?

Yes, it was just a hack trying for a headline. If he said he gave up the rags would be saying we have written off season etc.

Everyone knows the title is all but over. Garry the rat Neville was licking Mourinho balls at the weekend trying to make ohtutd were still in a title race with city

No, but he has to say it.
I'd be really disappointed in him if he said we'd given up already.

He wouldn't have just come out with it, he'd have been asked a leading question.

Personally, I don't think he does have to say it. Who in their right mind thinks we are challenges? He could have took a leaf out of Kenny's book and said "we'll take each game as it comes and add the points up at the end of the season"

I actually really liked how Kenny always managed to get out of difficult league position questions with that answer. Absolutely brilliant.

How many times we had the chance to take opportunity and we failed to do?.We have the chance to go above Tottenham in the league tonight and we must take it at Stokes.

It's almost nailed on that we'll get beaten now, we never take advantage.

Two clubs we are yet to play are changing their managers, Everton and West Brom making the two games more difficult.

If we get rid of Klopp today then it will be a level playing field.

    MATCH FACTS
    Head-to-head

    • Stoke have lost seven of their last eight top-flight games against the Reds, winning the other game.
    • That sole victory was a 6-1 home win in May 2015 - Steven Gerrard's last game for Liverpool.
    • Since that defeat Liverpool have won three successive games away to Stoke in all competitions.

so you are saying we are due a pasting?

seriously though I don't know what to make of stoke and Hughes. either it will be piss easy or a disaster. I can't see it being a tame draw.

it really matters imo so I'm actually more nervous than Chelsea game.

It feels like we've had a pretty bad season but if we win tonight then we go above Spur and Arsenal - albeit Arsenal also play tonight.

    Minimum 5th.

If we could just sort out that ****ty defence and keeper we would be a really decent team.

yeah it really is a cross roads type time now.

We could go very badly, or we could go great.

Its a "bad" season if you wanted to win a league cup.

Thus far we have got a bad draw in league cup, went out playing weaker team. We are in decent position in CL but people expected us to win the group having seen it with game to spare. We are 3/4 points behind ideal position in league and got two hammerings. I think its very much perception.

Before the off i said 6th once we saw the draws i said an fa cup un and last 16 of cl would be best we could do. We had a brief flurry in last week of window that blew our expectations sky high i think also.

A run of good results now and us looking all business would be great. I don't have confidence we have the right attitude on the field to do it though.... it really is sort of waiting for the other shoe to drop at some point while hoping to sneak 4th and go into another summer window dreaming of a big improvement.

I'd love us to get to SF of FA cup maybe and see where do go form there but there a lot of luck in that draw. I still see us as 6th place team.... I hold out some hope that arsenal will implode after january as ozil and Sanchez announce their next clubs.....
