I see that Garth Crooks has chosen Foster as keeper in his team of the week. Obviously didn’t see him kick a ball boy and cheat throughout the game
A very belated observation or two on Saturday's game. • The West Brom goal came directly from Dele Alli's increasing tendency towards self-indulgence. I hope it's a lesson learned. • Weak refereeing (especially in relation to Foster) was a real influence on the pattern of the game. The incident with the ballboy (right in front of me) should have earned a yellow card. And by that time he should have been given another yellow, anyway - so it would have been a well-earned sending-off. That would have left them with one fewer passengers on their bus. • The fact that Eriksen had such a poor game, with hardly a single successful pass, was a real reminder of how important he is to the smooth operation of our passing game. • I thought Son tried hard to up the pace when he had the opportunity; and Dembele certainly did when he came on. Otherwise the team looked a bit jaded. • Winks has the ability to open locked defences, but has become overly cautious of late. He rarely makes an actual mistake, but does not get the game going when in possession. He needs to speculate a little in order to accumulate! • The atmosphere was mostly dead, until we decided to try to win the game after we'd scored. That's the worst of the Wembley effect. There'd have been some better efforts to get the voices going if we'd still been at the Lane - easier in the closer atmosphere. It's all too clinical and detached, watching at Wembley. Sad but true. • And finally, at least it was a relief that Poch did not throw on Mr Cul-de-Sac himself, Sissoko, as he usually does! (Is that the first game he's not featured in this season?) Does this mean he's realised at last that, for all his earnest and well-intentioned endeavour, the guy is simply not up to it?
Motson's still going to do the FA Cup Final, apparently. Could still have one more Spurs game at Wembley, potentially. Really can't see it, but it would be nice.
Now this is just annoying: http://www.espn.co.uk/football/tott...r-slams-foster-time-wasting-in-west-brom-draw "He said [to us] that he doesn't want to be the referee that blows the whistle for someone holding the ball longer than six seconds, because no-one does." So he knows that the keeper's taking the piss, but he not only won't do anything about it, he admits it to the player then books him for complaining.
