    He's actually 6 foot 3 inches.

    And vicious <ok>

It's not just liking a tackle, it's liking the sound of breaking bones and screams of agony.

    Exactly.

I reckon he would be into eye gouging if he got the chance, good call solid.

Timo Horn doesn't like coming out for crosses and sometimes come across nervous (not what we need right now).

Gregory K from PSG is good but I don't think he fits what we need. He dwells on the balls and can play long balls forward. He has a good reading of the game but his tackling stats aren't spectacular and I'm not sure he can keep up with the pace of the league.

Really strange that we’re letting him go - we’re hardly blessed in that area of the pitch. As MITO says, he has a bite to his game, something we badly lack. Would much rather give him mins as CM than Milner.

Goretzka and Gimenez on pre contracts could be great deals in the long run.

I would be really surprised if we don’t go back in for VVD in January.

Kai Havertz and Emerson are others
    we’re linked with as well.

Woodburn is the interesting one for me. He needs the games but needs a team that plays a similar style to ourselves too, no point in joining another PL team and sitting in their bench but didn't want to drop down the leagues too much and pick up bad habits.

I know little Wilson but he's a bit older isn't he? Needs to be making strides soon imo

The other three are older and have probably missed the boat now.

The Brazilian that played for Boro? Bit old isn't he? :bandit:

PS... he'd have been good in our current midfield mind

I really want to give Karius and Ward more chances. It’s time to bin Mignolet.

I think all three need binning. About time we had a decent keeper that the defence (not this one bar RB) can trust. Midfield need to trust the ball five too but again, not the current misfield.

Problem is, that's seven players needed <laugh>

Think it’s harsh - Karius has been in and out of the team so hard to get any rhythm. I think we need to give him a full season to prove himself. Don’t forget - Reina, loris and De Gea were all poor when they first came in.

Ward hasn’t had a lot of opportunities but he has looked commanding when he has played. Again, I rather give him a chance before we bin.

The only person who constantly gets a chance is Migs and it’s a waste. The guy is not good enough whereas the other two could wel be the same but they are both young and have potential to improve.

Lloris and Reina weren't poor but they did get better.

De Gea was clearly a quality keeper that just needed to adjust to the physicality of the PL. Only muppets wrote him off.

    Just to expand on this...

I know my condemning included Matip. I wasn't saying to bin him.

When signing a player, we should aim to improve on what we already have. However, the likes of Lovren aren't the standard we should be aiming for, Matip is more appropriate.

Improve on Matip and the squad is much stronger.

But surely we should afford the same time and patience for Karius and Ward before we bin them off?

I agree - marginal improvement won’t get is far. That’s why I really want Keita, goretzka , VVD and Gimenez as they are all big upgrades on what we currently have.

Karius doesn't even look like becoming a quality keeper. Wasn't Ward being written off two years ago and he's just been kept as a cheap third choice?

Karius was awful when he was installed as first choice keeper so i don't buy this in and out of the team rhythm malarkey. What you are right about is that he is relatively young so as and Reina was awful when he first came (crosses wise anyway) and had the odd howler in him before he went world class. So maybe you are right Karius just needs a bit of time

De Gea was always decent and just got an unfair rep with the media. His aerial ability wasn't brilliant but wasn't terrible.

Don't remember any criticism of Lloris at all.
