Chris Froome's achievements seem to be massively underrated, what he has achieved in cycling and he has got nowhere near winning this year, he should of been up there pretty much every year for the last five years. His achievements are as good as Murray's if not better in my eyes.

I tend to agree on his achievements unfortunately because of others in his sport, to the general public, successful cyclists are looked upon with a degree of scepticism.

Didn’t he represent Kenya at the All African Games? Should he even be in the mix? Is there a “rest of the world” award he would be better suited to?

He got it in spades from Bradley; anything else would be patronising.

I tend not to want to get involved in the debate over whether people are British or not. That's not a conversation I like having, if he wants to class himself as British as he has British parents I am delighted to have him represent our country and continue to dominate cycling.

I don't think we should pre-judge anyone due to others in the sports history. I give him the benefit of the doubt as there is no evidence he has done anything wrong at all.

Afraid I can't coach or mentor you there. I can run a marathon but last time I threw on some boots and played 5 a-side with the youngsters from work I couldn't walk for a ****ing week.

If it's just for sporting achievement then it's Froome for me as well , Tour de France and Tour of Spain double this year

I don't think he'll win though for some of the reasons mentioned above

Personally Froome is IMO British as much as I am, just because his parents, because of work, decided to live in Kenya and he was then born there was hardly his fault. I know he competed for Kenya at first, but it is similar to Aina who played for England younger teams, but has decided to go with Nigeria because both his parents are Nigerian.

Konta has Hungarian parents and represented Australia - just because she moved to the UK doesn't make her British - if I move into a stable does that make me a horse

It is hard to rate sports against each other but I think Froome is the standout candidate on that list (although I think being part of a team counts against him).
