Gardner reminds me of Nolan tbh. He can score a lot of goals from midfield, but I'm not sure if his CM play is up to much. That's the exact same problem we had with Nolan. Good goalscorer, but he was the weak link in our midfield unit.

I think Gardner is a tidy passer as well, he does a lot of running off the ball as well opening space, he's a good player.

Chimneys a good option, long as the fire's off like.

Who do we replace Bruce with if we sack him?? Who is readily available (and will accept the money we would pay) to manage us?

Do you think Ancelotti would manage us for 1m a year?? Or would you swap Sven or McLaren for Bruce??

IMO we can't sack a manager JUST because we lost to a decent goal from a free-kick (which, IMO, should have been dealt with by the keeper) - We are 2 games into the season and tosack a manager just because we lost to Newcastle would surely be cutting off our nose to spite our face.

What happens to our new signings if the manager leaves? Most of us are happy with the signings (although would have liked a left winger and a Striker) but we weren't unhappy with the ones that he signed so sacking him could go either way - it could be very very bad for the club.

I'm not one for knee jerk reactions - it is only one game (the biggest of our season but still, in the grand scheme it is only one game) and I think we need to remember that

Am I saying sack him now?
    Nope!
Am I saying he isn't a very good manager?
    Yes!
Am I just saying this because of the derby defeat?
Nope been saying it for a very long time.
Do I want to see a new manager come in?
Yes but not at the expense of causing turmoil in the club I love.
Would I like Mr Short and Mr Quinn to have some irons in the fire manager wise?
    Most definitely.
Who do I think should come in?
No idea at all, but still think change is required and Bruce isn't Premiership quality.

I agree with all of the above bar the last point. I think he's premiership quality, by that I mean I think he will always keep us up much like Big Sam would do.

It remains to be seen whether he can push us on. If not his days are surely numbered.

Read my post on the facts of Bruce this year. He should be sacked for them alone mate.

And do you really think Martin O Neill (available for nothing) or an ambitious bid for David Moyes (he may well be up for a new challenge after 8 years operating with no budget at Goodison), wouldnt be a far better option than the useless, clueless baffoon we have in charge now?

    Please!!!!
