Oh, ho-ho. I don't expect you looked far just in case you found something. In fact there was a low key live demo on Youtube on Friday, in Stockholm. It was well covered. It was totally boring for well over two hours but the demo showed the new technology providing excess heat. I didn't provide a link because I didn't expect you to be interested, but if you want to endure it, type in Ecat QX Demo into Youtube. It was only of interest to purists and scientists because understandably, Rossi's team don't want to reveal any secrets of the tech. But they measured the excess heat being produced and I'm informed the demo went well. It's like the person who develops the car that can run a 10,000 miles on a thimble full of fuel and everyone wants to look under the bonnet to nick the idea. Or even John Harrison who developed the impossible sea-clock. He wouldn't tell how he did it and the authorities wouldn't pay him until he did. That wasn't resolved for decades, and in the end the King had to intervene [a Royal Family member actually being useful].
On the Martin Lewis Money programme, earlier this evening, he said it was just shy of £160 pw. Just Googled it and it gave his and your version!!! Either way in comparison with Germany, I’m with you- WTF.

I had a decent dig. Obviously I found reports, and saw the youtube links, what I didn't find was a single independent verification that the demo proved what Rossi said it proved. His figures are based on several factors which we are expected to just accept, such as the the unverified claim that the QX devices have much less than 1 ohm of resistance, and that the controller was not delivering any additional high frequency energy to the devices. He uses secrecy as his justification to avoid answering any difficult questions that may question his claims, he had his hands on the kit, possibly changing things prior to "verification" using the 800ohm resistor. You may be right, and Rossi might still save the world, but I still think Rossi's ecat produces energy because energy is put into the system, and it produces bullshit as a bi-product

The independant verification paper is being written for publication. But you may be right. However, I can't expect Rossi to give up his secrets. It would be just stupid after all the research his team have done. The other thing is that this stuff is a race, not a lone team. There's at least 2 other main contenders out there trying to get things to industrialisation, and then marketing, first. Brilliant Light Power and Brillouin Energy [I think that's the correct spelling for the latter] are just two off the top of my head. And there are others some distance behind.

They've just had first testing and reached 310km/hr. Difficult to read too much into it as Hyperloop obviously only release a minimum amount of their results. But considering the Kantrowicz limit (a main issue identified early on), these results suggest that the limit speed would be around 677 km/h. This is quite a disappointing compared to the following quote from Hyperloop: With an additional 2000 meters of stator, we would have hit 1100 km per hour As usual the answer to the difficult bits seems to be 'Its OK, we know the answer', and this project is still very young. Is it the real deal..? Yes quite probably, but the breathtaking promises of delivering exceptional breakthroughs in Engineering and technology over the next 10 years, as opposed to what we might expect over the next 30 years? It's difficult to know what to expect just yet, but it seems it has the backing.
