I just read this on otib/twitter, it's quite suprising to realise we are in the top six for net transfer spend.

Quite different figures knocking about. If it stretched back to when we sold Kodjia though, we'd be much further down those lists I'm sure.

Would Keith Millen, mine and 1For's favourite all time manager, still be in charge if he'd enjoyed the same budget ?

Not sure what these stats mean - are they taking income into consideration as well as expenditure, or is that the figure AFTER income (including sale of players) has been taken into account?
Doesn't Financial Fair Play mean that we can only spend what we can afford?
What about all those negative spends - have Sunderland made £27.8 million so far this season then?!!!!!! (or is that their Parachute payments? Still a credit to them though...)

They sold Jordan Pickford to Everton for something like £30m.

think the appointment of Lee was when it all sank in for SL ... HAD managers capable, but wasted good money on handshakes to give the next crew a handshake etc etc etc...
I THINK with SC it was a bit different, he had the ability, and some, in div 1 to get the players he had and the 3-5-2 he used to really burn up the track. His record in the championship has been not so very good, Birmingham will be an acid test for him.. so far not panning out to well but in all honesty 10 games [ as we give at start of season} should be a marker 30 points to aim for (needs 15)
SO FAR 8 points from 24 doesn't herald like a world beater.
Derrick McI on the other hand is not doing so bad north of the border, some will inevitably say "well standard is less" probably so for all but about 8 clubs .... but he does linked to quite a few "vacancies" he has just bought a new set of ski's so wont be going anywhere anytime soon ...:emoticon-0140-rofl:

Income from players is included, without other variables and taken in isolation the figures are not so significant.

Doesn't Financial Fair Play mean that we can only spend what we can afford?

No City (Mr Lansdown) can lose up to thirteen million pounds a season over three seasons, if Mr Lansdown uses equity to cover loss above five million pounds a season, this has been occurring.

I'd be one of those JG2 saying north of the border is of a well less standard, if fact, I'd go further and say the likes of the Gas could compete in that league..

The Scottish Premier League is a joke

Brendan Rogers keeps telling everyone how great Celtic are but they have virtually no opposition and it was good to see them play a real team in Europe (PSG) and concede 7 last week. That is what they'd face if they were in the English top flight.

Hamilton v Hibs on Saturday attracted 2,900 spectators. It's a joke. Wolves, Sheff United, and Middlesbrough all had nearly 10 times that pitiful attendance in our division 2.

Scottish div 2 you mean ? :emoticon-0143-smirk:emoticon-0143-smirk ... there is probably 7 or 8 teams that could "put up a show" in the championship, I am not saying win it but finish 3rd to 21st { you need to take out the bottom teams to accommodate!} it will never happen so all conjecture anyway!

you can only have what there is to have, Hamilton is like Brislington is to Bristol pass by it a dozen times a year population about the size of Keynsham, St johnstone half the size of Bath Aberdeen almost a third the size of Bristol ... Glasgow supports 2 teams has a general population of 500.000 similar to greater Bristol , but over 1.2 million in greater Glasgow area .. Edinburgh 2 teams 900k population
EDINBURGH both teams gates a couple less thousand than City
GLASGOW both teams around treble CITY'S
    Aberdeen about 3-4 k less
ross cty the size of portishead 3.5 -4 k !

The population of Hamilton in the 2011 Census was 53,188 so point taken.
And I don't know how many out of the 2,945 who turned up on Saturday were travelling Hibs fans

But, the population of Dingwall (Ross County FC) was just 5,491 in the 2011 census, but their average home attendance is 4,103
So pro rata the inhabitants of Dingwall REALLY get behind their football club !

just down the road is the Inverness team, a lovely little ground on the river bank by the bridge about 3000 turn up from a population that is said to be about 50k but that includes the surrounding area, a bit like adding in Clevedon Portishead to Bristol
