We know Wolves are breaking football fair play rules but odds on to be promoted so meaningless. The stats quoted I assume have taken Wood & Taylor cash which is wrong. We offloaded a few, we spent around £6m on 4 players but still had cash over from last season too. One problem signing is Ouasim Bouy who we loaned to Spanish sister club, he has only played once and has gone missing for the 3rd time. Seems he wants to play for Leeds and thats why he left Inter Milan, but being in Spain he dont like. Wonder how Orta will deal with this
WJ. It’s net spend so offset by player sales, with what we got from the sales of wood and Taylor we would be no where near the top of that.
This sounds vaguely good, if there's any meat to it: https://www.leedsunited.com/news/community/22603/whites-employment-partnership-launched Not something Bates would have initiated, anyway
Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant that the net figures were a lot lower than I expected. For instance, didn't Villa spend about £40m? If so, can't imagine them recouping anything like that. You never get a players full value once you get relegated - you can't afford him, and other clubs know that they've got you by the balls, hence the low sale prices. There were a few big spenders, but I don't remember them selling big to offset that cost. Have to admit it's just an impression. I have zero evidence to support this.
Just in case any of the Cooper knockers missed this ..... https://www.footballinsider247.com/leeds-26-year-old-named-efl-team-week/
When put like that you're right. Probably why there are so many 'undisclosed' transfer fees, hides the money.
I'm hoping this is one to develop and not to go straight into the 1st team. In January if we are going to get a new striker I would really like a player who will hit the ground running. To do this I think we need a player who is/ or has played in the championship and been successful.
We have found to our cost that every player seemingly has his price. Maybe, just maybe, if a good chunk of our famous warchest is used we might well be able to land a quality player or two.
