Early wicket needed, Smith hopefully, the mid to lower order should fall pretty quickly if we can get him out.

Good first half hour tonight, lads never looked in any bother.

Expect Cummins to come on and bowl some rapid short stuff.

Lads competed well at times but the collapses haven’t helped at all.

Both Woakes and Ball are dross in Oz conditions too.

The Balmy Army do a magnificent job and are very popular with everyone , they are a fine example of what can be done

Can’t you tell with how quiet this thread has gone? Ha ha

Got beat by 10 wickets in the end Vince.

Hammering on paper but it was a bit closer than the score would suggest.

Was a lesson in how to bowl in Gabba conditions mind. Broad and Anderson are good bowlers but aren't what you'd call quick.

I think Bairstow should be moved up so he's not left wagging the tail - he's too good a batsman for that and would score better with better batsmen alongside him. Moeen has held the tail together in the past so why change it?

Wonder what will happen if people corroborate Stokes' story (i.e. the fact that he was sticking up for two gay guys against homophobic insults and only threw the punch as he thought he was going to be hit in the face with a bottle) - what would any of us do in that situation?

Hopefully we would have done the same. Although in his position he should have really ran for help and kept well out of it. It's not the first assault he's done either mate.

Agree about Bairstow, he needs pushed up the order. We have to stop these collapses as well, we always seem to lose about 4 wickets in the middle of the innings for about 50 runs.

    Bring back Trott.

Need someone like him without any doubt. Not only did he put up a wall, he slowed everything down and made the bowlers wait until he was ready. Stopped the oppo getting too much rhythm.

Agree about Stokes - and I know it's not his first time - he's one of these lads who, if he hadn't played cricket to the level he has, probably would've regularly been in trouble after too many pints - I have been training with a cricket club last season and we train at the riverside - regularly see Durham pros so hear a lot of stuff about the players!!
