Valencia take the lead against FC Tax-free Zona. Lovely. Perhaps at least one ****ing result to cheer me up this weekend.
Highly unlikely - he's not a big enough name for them I'd have thought. . And surely a Spurs fan would present this as dubious speculation, or even try to sound worried about it? We'll not sell anyone in January unless it suits us, we are not in that type of position. Eriksen will be looking forward to CL last 16 (can't play for Barca).
The BBC gossip column refers to the Eriksen to Barcelona in January rumour...might have thought about it if they had not written "Tottenham striker Eriksen..."
Romelu Lukaku has escaped a ban for an alleged kick on Brighton's Gaetan Bong, which is a player and not a nightclub, apparently: Alleged? This is why I don't think that VAR will actually change anything. They'll use it to punish the Niasses of this world, not the Lukakus. Any guess on the three refs on that panel? I'm going with Howard Webb, Mark Clattenburg and Alex Ferguson.
The game is becoming way too corrupt and that is sad. I wish I didn't follow the game but I am addicted. Money and so called officials dictate.
Do they publish an explanation? The only grounds would be if the ref saw it, and then it is a foul, no goal and a sending off?
They don't explain the decision or say who's on the three-man panel. They all have to agree it's a red and they didn't. It's utterly opaque so that they can pretend that they've done their job, when they clearly haven't.
The funny thing is, that doesn't even matter. Even if he missed, it would still be a red. I know you're not serious, but it really does show how silly that decision is.
According to Dermot Gallagher, it was petulance rather than violent conduct and would have been a booking rather than a sending off. I'm not sure many current refs would agree with his view. They would get a lot of flak if they did.
