Scanned through 15 minutes of the first half. Yeah, I see how Everton scored. Good goal. Avoidable but for VVD's slip, but an excellent controlled shot. Nice that the second half will be better. :)

It also left them with two ancient centre halves with no legs, a right winger at right back, and a right back at left back. And boy did we take advantage of that utter mess in the second half.

It was strange, if we hit the bar it always bounces to safety, this ball had a mind of its own, it looked determined to find its way in to the net.

How can you drop the captain after the midfield performed like that and he got a goal to boot?

OK, early second half and Boufal has just done a pass down the line to Bertrand and I had to put the video back, it was so quick. He collected the ball right on the touch line, swapped feet and then weighted a perfect pass for Bertrand to run onto, and it was so quick one could just about see the pause as the feet were swapped. This is the sort of thing that makes ones mouth water, in terms of Boufal's skill. It's all so easy for him. I think even Gabby was asked the other day who was the most technical player at the club and he said Boufal had astonished him.

Ooh, nice goal Charlie. Good assist too. Proper CF headed goal.

He did that about 4/5 times at Palace earlier this season.

Not one of those ****ty floaty ones either, but direct like a arrow. The best one was from a free kick just inside their half which he only took one step for and hit it 40-50 yards perfectly. Incredible.

Those passes remind me of Toby/Morgan tbh.

Ooh, another nice header from Austin. I'm bound to say that, for all of Shane Long's industry, he would probably have missed both chances.

Dusan looked really enthused today, which comes from having somone to hit. Pleased for him. He's a solid Saints player, not going anywhere, and he's got a couple of seasons of top level form, at least. Good stuff.

I was bit peeved that there was criticism of Shane Long when he came on, the first thing he did was outpace their defence chasing a no hope ball, it scared the pants off them and although the move was spoiled by the wrong final ball, it gave them food for thought and they didn't risk their defenders going forward. He still put an effort in and I suspect he is at his deadliest when he is bit angry and up against a tiring defence, if his finishing could improve he would still be a force to reckon with.

Actually not trying that hard. I don't remember them winning a single 50/50 ball, or dispossessing us once. As bad a side as I can ever remember seeing at St Marys - but we still had to go and beat them.

Eveton need to investigate how they paid so much money for some of these players. Keane & Williams are shocking. And that's just naming two.

The central midfield had such control today and moved the ball quickly that it allowed the full backs to press forward for the whole game, it makes a hell of a difference and it's no coincidence that Cedric and Bertie had their best games by a country mile today.

Perhaps they are just being coached poorly, they were ok at their previous clubs.

I remember Williams being a beast for Swansea at SMS a couple of years ago.
