So... Just on another thread and talking about a team full of Lucases/Biscans... Had a great idea... Football Manager... There are tools to let you clone players... what if someone with an inordinate amount of spare time replaced all the teams with "team of xxxxxxx". Pick 20 players from our squad- and duplicate them so that there is a whole team of them. Gerrardpool vs Carragherpool Adampool Vs Lucaspool Would have to use one of those cheat tools to prevent managers doing transfers... it wouldn't be right if Gerrardpool signed "Lucas". Besides "Milk is crazy", what d'you think? Finally a way to tell just how good a team of Carraghers really would be.
I have Football Manager 2007 somewhere but I don't know where. I think I might have given it to somebody.
I've got 2010... I may give it a go Tuesday evening. Might set it up- and run it one week at a time and post the results one round per week... Would either need up-to-date stats or it will be based on 2010 stats. May need to set up a new league in a minor country rather than altering English teams... so as to not have UEFA games and cups interfere. Suggestions for the 20 teams? Davidako, Gerrard has played at one point or another as Centre Back, Full Back, every position in midfield and as a second striker. So he probably could pull of the "team of".
OK... so I'm going simple to start with. I took Eritrea since it didn't have a league defined yet and I created an Eritrean "All The Same League". I created 8 teams and a Knock Out cup. All teams have Anfield as their home stadium (to make it fair). I have: Paris St. Gerrard Reinagers Inter Kuyt Lucaspool Biscantinople Real Mad Skrtel Carragher Old Boys El Zhar FU I took the player for each of the above teams (this is FM2010 so think 2 year old data this was before the 09/10) - I tried to pick players who were around at then and now. I didn't change any of their stats... well except a very slight tweak to Biscan- although I tried not to make him too good. I set them all as being born in Eritrea To make this fair- I am going to create 8 managers in a game- start the game- use the "FMRTE cheat tool" to clone the players so they each have 18 clones available. I will play each game in a 4-4-2 formation and we will see which player makes the best all-round squad player. If this works out well I'll try getting 16 teams set up with up-to-date data including some of our new players- but for now this is a simple test run with just 8 teams. I'll do the last set up needed and possibly post my first match results Thursday or there-abouts. Any predictions who will win. (BTW- I only increased Biscan's mental stats- I left his physical and tactical skills as they are... I didn't want this to be a Biscan blood fest)
A team full of Carras would never let in a goal, and will score 10 goals a season from own half shots. Unfortunately Carra tends to hoof it upfield for Carra to hoof it over the bar.
