Eire, I can't help thinking that Radz is unlikely to spend much in January. Notoriously difficult to get the level of player needed, and if we can they'll be overpriced. Most clubs who've spent well and been successful in getting promoted have done their business in the summer, so they hit the ground running at the start of the new season. Maybe not what the fans want to hear as we're 70% there maybe, but completing the squad might have to wait till June. If TC can get us to the playoffs or thereabouts then Saiz, Alioski et al should stay around in the summer with better terms and the promise of significant investment for next season. If they leave for the Wet Shams of this world they have no appreciation or respect for Leeds as a club in any case, and we're well shot. Just my opinion like.
You must remember most of the players we signed in the summer likely never heard of Leeds before signing. Therefore don’t have any particular love for the club, it’s only a job for them and ultimate aim will be the big pay day of the pl. don’t expect any kind of loyalty, the lads that came through our academy didn’t show much. It would surely be much better to strengthen in January and show ambition to the others now rather than make promises for the summer
Very true, but I have a feeling that if we can show we will compete for promotion next year we have a better chance of keeping them for another season. If they go in the summer for the money, fair enough - nothing Radz or anyone can do, and it's back to square one. Would desperation spending in January change things if we don't go up in June? Just my gut feeling, anyway.
But just cos it’s January doesn’t mean it has to be desperation especially when it’s obvious what areas we are weak in. I suspect Orta would be very well paid so not unreasonable he’ll have lined up a few candidates to strengthen us, maybe like the Japanese lad that was meant to join us
Hope you're right, and we get the right mix we need to get us to the next level. I'm playing Devil's Advocate to an extent, and setting expectations, but I hope we smash it like the next man. ALAW.
Check this out because when we got Grot I had a look around and to be fair he looked big, fast, powerful & a menace to defenders. Played wing as well but Kluivarts kid is another Dutch kid but looks as good as his dad
Judas sprake was found out against Huddersfield Town when he dived feet first into the player I tod my friend he has lost his nerve Revie agreed and sold him vfor 100k gto Brum he played about 6 times when they realised he was a bum steer
To the best of my knowledge we don't have any player who is out of contract next summer. Pablo is the closest but I believe we have a 12 month extension option. That's a massive difference from recent seasons when we have had Byram, Cook, Taylor as well Wood and Green from last summer all running down their contracts meaning the club had very little option but to cash in. We can now continue to build the squad from a strong position and if a PL club does come in for Siaz it will cost them a huge transfer fee before we would be willing to do business. Incidentally I watched Coutino play the other night and if he is worth 100 million then Siaz whilst maybe not quite as fleet of foot is certainly every bit as insightful and creative. With that in mind any offer below 20 million can be dismissed out of hand given the way the PL transfer market escalated over the summer.
Hes one ex player who deserves a good reception but only with five minutes remaining and were three up
