and a part of me thinks if i played football for a club i didnt really support and another club offered to triple my wages...i also would try to force a move......infact i would all of a sudden even think that Manchester City had a history and ive always wanted to play for them!! little fukin twat
We don't know that he's actually on strike though, do we? Knowing Redknapp, he'd have blurted it out on Talksport last night, if it were true. At the moment, I still think that the media heard our illustrious manager say that Modric wouldn't play and saw the opportunity to create a bigger story.
true PNP..but as i think you yourself have mentioned previously..i think this is going to end up being a 'Berbatov'....Levy will get an extra 5 million and he will tell us that yes..even though i said i wouldnt sell him..i did but not before taking them to the cleaners....therefore saving his own face..according to himself that is...and its a pointless sale for us at this stage of the season...transfer window ending..and even if it wasnt....who do we buy? who wants to come? watch this space
I'm not sure its totally pointless in keeping hold of him til deadline day. At least that way we prevent out better players (eg Bale) hankering after a move because Modders has left. At least til january anyway. We need to get players in as insurance though
it isnt pointless now spufectionist...because we cant really replace him...we should just make his life a misery and make him ponder over his actions..then tell him to fek off come the last hour of the transfer window....to be quite honest what hurts me is not the fact that modric will not be in our team as i do belive that we are just as effective without him with a bit of application...but the fact that he would stregthen chelsea...considerebly...when was the last time a top 4 team sold thier top players to us?
I've said before that Levy would be playing a very dangerous game, if this is his plan. He risks unsettling the whole team and pissing off the entire fanbase. Personally, I just think that he's had enough of players being disloyal and other clubs being underhand. He's trying to send out a message and he's put his reputation on the line. Very risky.
Don't get me wrong, if he's sulking i think he should be moved on asap. If possible abroad for a lower fee. However, i don't think its totally pointless keeping him til the last minute, thats all i was saying
jeez, guys! call me a doom-monger or anything, but he is going, he always was going. Let them get this over and done with and use the incoming funds before the bloody deadline hits. CAn we ban modric threads now? it has all been done , methinks. sorry..
no ebar we cant! and ermm what we going to use his money on? we wont have time to spend it..its not really an article about his move..its about the speculation of him being on strike and the stinking attitude of a multi millionaire that drives him to act in such a twatty way...<ok? i think soon it will have to start to be put into contracts for these idiots that if they strike then they got to pay back wages or something that will deter them
See also: The MOTD vultures circling over Everton talking of their debt, ignoring that the bank said they won't give them money for new players - NOT that they said they'd have to sell a chunk of their squad to survive. If that was the case, the term "doing a Man Utd" would be used by Leeds and Pompey fans. [/rant]
Didn't Redknapp actually say that Modric probably won't play due to his injury but if he did he'd have to get his head right first?
i think the injury thing was used initially in the hope that he will get his head right by the united match....there was no injury it was all about getting the head right...thats my take on it..im probably way off the mark!
On the Premeir League site it says he is "likely to return to the starting line up" after recovering from his minor groin strain. Why is it certain idiots (sorry, "journalists") think his not playing means he'll be sold? It's not there is a single example of a player being cup-tied for a whole league season after turning out for their initial club, is there? Compare this to the rumour that Wenger will intentionally get Nasri cup-tied by playing him against Udinese, please...
That's my belief, and what I've been saying for a while. I wouldn't go as far as to say Levy would NEVER sell to The Chavs. However, I do think it would only be at an extortionate price. One which, unless they are desperate, The Chavs won't pay.
