He pinged an absolute laser of a pass to Cedric in the first half.

Reminded me very much of Schneiderlins trademark pass when he was with us.

Kudos to the two guys I passed outside on the way in today. They were moaning about the lineup and concluded by saying - 'never mind, we'll probably go and win 4-0 now'. Well, they were nearly right. They say an equaliser on the stroke of halftime is a killer but actually, it was perfect timing for us because we looked nervous after that until the whistle. Halftime gave us the time to regroup and pick up where we left off before the goal

Well done MP. Not for just the 3pts, but the whole performance.

Because I said Austin should start every week (which guarantees us 15 goals a season if nothing else) I am not suggesting he is better than Gab. Gab is a higher quality player. I would play both but our leader appears not to want to accommodate this so far.

Yep, it was the go-to pass that first half.

Had a little Brighton feel about it, didn't it. But he didn't make us sit back, we looked a little tentative but still drove forward. Gutted with the goal on HT, but I actually think that forced our hand a little, and that helped immensely!

Slightly pessimistic on the score but we really didn't look like doing anything but win from the kick off.

Had a serendipitous meeting with Laces on the bridge coming back form the game and we were agreeing vociferously that no-one had a bad game. Really uplifting. We were also quick on the break.

MOTM? Boufal. What a man! What a player, what vision! What sublime ball skills! What tenacity if he loses it! A star!

Hojbjbjbjbjbjerg wasn't far off, either. (Sorry, Laces, I can't give him MOTM)

    Onwards and upwards.

    Vin

PS. Only negative from me was that it was against a team with a shocking number of problems. Truly shocking.

Great team performance today, Pierre my MOM but Boufal has to be included. He started the play for the first goal from our own penalty box, winning the ball back. Felt a little sorry for Gabby today as our crosses into the box were early and with pace and causing the Everton defense to back peddle and Charlie took advantage and this has been missing for some time. Gabby must be wondering have those been all season when he has been playing. Also, the first goal showed what can happen when you counter attack with pace and quick passing, Earlier this season we would have stopped at the half way line and passed sideways or backwards, so that was another welcome change from previous games. Time will tell if this was the defining moment in our season to go on and regain the exciting football we have been treated to over past seasons.

Understood Bill, but I personally didn’t think he particularly gave us anything in today’s game that Gabbi wouldn’t have. The BBC report says “Austin inspired Saints” - not how I saw it personally.

I’m not criticising him at all by the way, that would be madness, I’m just saying that I didn’t see anything, in the context of today’s game, that changed my view that MG should start ahead of him.

If I was an Everton fan I’d be seriously worried, made us look good.

I’m not though so I’m going to enjoy the win and laugh at those deluded pricks who think they are a relevant club still

PEH was my motm today. Charlie was great when given the chances, but without Pierre mopping up, he wouldn't have had the opportunity. Boufal with a mention, such tenacity. Great day, best in a long long time.
