Every game is worth the same 3 points theoretically, but psychologically this was massive....bearing in mind the games we have coming up. Two struggling sides and we came out on top....brilliant.

Easily one of the best players to wear our shirt. I'd have (the old) him back in a flash.

Well, that was unexpected, at least by me. I did email the suggestion to MP2 that players who miss the goal have to go and collect the ball from row Z themselves - I figured it would be a good incentive so that players don't have to trudge up past row upon row of fans telling them just how much they merit wearing the shirt.
My theory is that MP2 threatened the team with it, hence the result today,so on that basis, I'm claiming credit for the win.

Guy is a dick head now. A Everton fan saw him laughing and joking when they were losing 5-1 against Atlanta. Asked him why he was laughing etc. Morgan just laughed and shrugged. Plenty more stories like that going around about him as well. Guy doesn't care

It's interesting that even in the build up to his leaving us he still put a shift in. Looks so disinterested at Everton, but then many of their players made ours look like duracell bunnies today.

Feels strange to to win. Not sure what to do!

Only saw second half, but liking Boufal more and more. He's clearly growing in confidence. I'd like JWP to continue and Tadic on the left.

Right.! Been busy today where I didn't hear a moment's action or see any scores until the end. I'm guessing that Everton didn't sit back and defend en masse, but tried to play. If so, that is what was their undoing. Most comparable teams have sat back and defended deeply, only to break and score on any counters. Saints haven't been good enough to pick these teams apart. But if a team comes to play then we pick holes in them. Obviously there have been teams that have just been too good, but I wouldn't be suggesting that Everton were going to be in that category.

Tell me if I've got it totally wrong. I won't investigate until I get a Yay or Nay. :)

But he clearly did when he was here. I wonder if those fat North Western pay packets have dulled his desire.

Not read any of the above, so before I do, having raised my concerns that I thought Hojbjerg was too ill disciplined for the defensive midfield role, I was really impressed with the amount of work and covering he gave today. Over the full 90 minutes, for consistent involvement, I thought he was our stand out player, although there were several other good performances all over the park.
    Crisis? What crisis?
We’re on our way to Europe, we shall not be moved. Too soon? :bandit:

Great result. I almost didn't bother watching today but I'm delighted I did in the end. Everton were poor but I've been saying all season that Austin is the striker we have who best suits the way we're playing so I'm not remotely surprised he's scored a couple today.

I'd still like to see us try playing Tadic (left), Boufal (centre) and Gabbiadini (right) behind Austin but Man City probably isn't the game for that!
