Happened in a family I knew. In my first job, a girl I worked with said her sister had a cold and she was going to check on her as she wasn't answering her phone. She discovered that she had died of an acute form of leukemia at the age of 19.
Little bit of total trivia. Did you know that, on average, 3,000 Euros are thrown into the Trevi Fountain in Rome.... every day.! I was slightly astonished.
I didn't recall the number off my head, but I remember when I was there reading that it was a large amount. Anyone wanting to visit me, my pond did have a fountain, so if you want to start, I'll fix the pump* *or TSS can ** actually it's more of a trickling waterfall
Today’s word of the day comes to us from Finland. Forget ‘hygge’, may I present - Kalsarikännet. The word means: the thought, or action, of drinking alone at home in your underpants, with no intention of going out.
That's my life....though I do wear trousers. Our equivalent is slobbing...though not necessarily involving alcohol.
Have spoken to my friend Google and apparently the fountain is turned off three times a week for an hour for cleaning and coin collection and the near million a year is distributed to charities abroad and used to fund a supermarket in Rome for the needy.
You never really get used to it. The only way to stay warm is to keep moving and impersonate the Michelin man with many layers of clothing
I've been hunting for News of Rossi and his eCat "demonstration" Funnily enough, I haven't found any sign of me being able to get free energy anytime soon. That bridge still available Vin?
https://uk.yahoo.com/news/blazing-fireballs-seen-over-southern-england-dozens-people-112200583.html Fireballs seen over Southern England. I heard them after I went to bed...repeated booming noise. I guessed meteorites....wished I had got up to see them.
Newer observation technology has recently discovered that there are an enormous number of, shall we say, 'interesting' sized meteors within the inner planet of our solar system. These 'interesting' ones went largely undetected before. Doesn't mean to say that the chances of encountering them suddenly rise, just that we are now more aware of their existence. Don't think you would have seen anything.
Love the Finnish language. Everything sounds so harsh - must be the cold weather. Has anyone seen that YouTube clip of the comedian on the Finnish language? Must try and find it - it’s hilarious
