The only time I'd kill someone is if they threatened my family or broke into my house, got weapons under the bed. **** the country and **** the army tbh. Don't get me started on the families when they lose a loved one in combat and want justice... so your loved one was going to make paper planes in a war zone? No they were going to war to kill. You stupid ****s.
Never trusted the Americans and never will, they are all good with words but a constant embarrassment when it comes to conflict.
As I’ve said before, having discovered at a young age that I had a strong aversion to people shooting at me or trying to blow me up, I reluctantly concluded that joining the armed forces probably wasn’t for me.
Pretty good as it goes. Having lived for some time in the States it's a pretty fair generalisation. It really doesn't matter where you travel to, their naive belief in their ground force strength is unbelievable! They best stick to big bombs because on the ground they are ****e.
In the time I spent there it was like 3/4 different countries. The east coast was as clued up as Americans get about what was going on globally. The Mid-west thought that the whole world ended at Long Island. The southerners are mostly a bunch of redneck inbreds, and California was known as ‘the land of fruits and nuts’ But, yeah, they mostly all love ‘murica and it can do no wrong.
If I thought the war was going to bring freedom and equality to 22 million of my people they wouldn’t have to draft me, I’d join tomorrow. Muhammad Ali
This. Something which threatened me directly then of course. But signing up to go to wars that you don't understand for the sake of money and power for some? Get ****ed. To be honest I'm struggling think of a job I'd rather do less.
I loved my time in the RAF but left at the right time for me, would I fight now if I was able? Hard to say. Problem is you don't get too pick and choose if you agree with each particular war so you have to be all in.
The army is taking a bit of a bashing here. I really don't know anybody who hasn't come out a better person for being in there. If you want your son to turn into a man quickly and be able to fend for himself for the rest of his life. Put him in there. My daughter is seriously considering signing up and I'm encouraging her to do it.
I give you that bellend from Amsterdam Come on Saf...there are other ways to get the young un to be an upright individual. Sending them to the forces just gives them a lust for power tripping it seems. Plus oppressing innocents for the Bankers of the world? Your kid is yours to love not theirs to kill.
Totally agree!! I'd never ever give kids a hard time for joining any branch of the armed forces. My problem's always with the suits who send them into harms way!
Thats if they come back. And I don't think anyone was belittling the forces directly tbh (I have a lot of respect for the individual bravery or stupidity in some cases) more the concept of war in general, well the wars we've seen in our lifetime at least.
The armed forces actually do a lot of good in terms of relief work in natural disasters etc. I think used as an enabling force and a peacekeeping force, there's a lot to be said for the armed forces. But I agree the politicians and suits that send young men and women into war zones to fight their political failures are utter ****s.
