    My lineup for tomorrow:

Forster (I'd prefer McCarthy but don't see it happening)

    Cedric Van Dijk Hoedt Bertrand
Stephens Lemina (Davis if Lemina is out)
    Long JWP Boufal
    Gabbiadini

Subs: McCarthy Yoshida Targett Davis/Hojbjerg Tadic Redmond Austin

Stephens would be given the job of manmarking Sigurdsson

Boufal and in particular Long given the task of getting in the box to join Gabbiadini as often as possible (too often Redmond and Tadic hang back waiting for 2nd balls, making it too easy for defences to clear against the 1 striker).
If it needs changing round, Long can go up front, JWP to the right and Gabbiadini drop back into AMC.
    Or go 2 up front.

JWP on to take set peices - from which Everton were woeful on Thursday night

Or pick Redmond, Davis, Tadic, play Redmond and Tadic on the wrong wings, watch the centre get overcrowded as everyone cuts inside, realises there's no pass on to the wings and play it backwards instead. Could work (hasn't done so far).

The sad thing is even if we lose the apathy is so strong that the meltdown won’t even be entertaining

Yeah. I came in from a snowy Liverpool last night having seen the brilliant Jake Bugg (see music thread!) absolutely buzzing. TMS was optimistic and then ...

Still buzzing from Jake, so come on Saints. Deflate me today and I'll not speak to you again. Never mind Brexit being messy, my "divorce settlement" will be brutal after over half a century of being abused by the club. Trouble is, I know I'll be back for more punishment so it's a hollow threat!

Cautiously optimistic. My Reds-supporting family members were trying to tell me we'd win easily today. Sometime you don't need well intended "support", but as I am about to go out to the car I'm predicting a 1-0 thrashing for the Blues. Would take a draw. Have booked a therapy session for Monday in the event of MP's demise.

I shall be listening to the match on the wireless and the very thoughtful and very lovely Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov has put a cyanide pill with glass of water close to hand should I need it.

You don't get out of it that easy....you can suffer like the rest of us. :)

Hope you are better soon and cheered up by a nice win for Saints....p.s. games always sound worse on the radio than they actually are. Promise.

On the radio/wireless/tranny, every ball in possession of the opposition sounds like it is in our goal mouth. At least you get the opportunity to breathe occasionally when watching on TV. There is only peril on the radio.
