Thought Eriksen lost control of the ball and took to long...don't remember any players appealing for a foul.
Totally agree about the time wasting...as a fan paying hard earned money I did feel cheated watching a player constantly waste time. I kind of get it from 70 minutes onwards but this started in the first 10 minutes.
Imho the premier league is so obsessed with over seas viewers they are forgetting that fans going to games can not be taken for granted.
Plenty of tv matches now have lots of empty seats...ticket prices are high, money is tight, going at stupid times on stupid days (5.40 on a Saturday when there's ****e public transport) 8pm on a Friday night or Monday night, 4pm on Xmas eve FFS...if they now allow blatant time wasting to that extent as a norm then who wants to go and see these matches?
This isn't to excuse the poor performance today by the way...if the ref had added the additional time we may well have lost!
I just think that if players cheat by tripping up or shirt pulling they generally get one warning then booked...Foster was warned about his cheating for about a kidding hour before being booked.
God knows what rules the ref has studied...presumably the same rules as that twat of a ref who ruled one of our gosls as offside 3 years ago when Vertongen carried the ball from our half to score <laugh>

I don't understand what we're doing with a number of our squad players.
N'Koudou wasn't involved at all today and it looks like Pochettino's got no interest in playing him.
Why isn't he getting time for the U23s? Keep him fit and sharp, at least.

The other end of that scale is Kyle Walker-Peters. He's not needed in the first team squad right now.
I thought he should've played more while Rose was out, but now we've got two right-backs on the bench, basically.
We're wasting spaces and limiting our options. It's unnecessary.

Chris "Not A Cyclist" Foy. He's now retired and trains refs, instead! <laugh>
I was going to make a those who can't teach joke, but I'm not sure you'd receive it well... <whistle>

Pretty sure he was the cock who refereed a match v stoke where they scored a goal from a handball, we had a goal ruled offside when Adebayor was 2 yards onside and denied a stone wall penalty for a shocking shirt pull and he sent Kaboul off for 2 yellows...one of which was for complaining about the penalty decision.

    And I ain't a teacher .. I dodge socks <laugh>

Yep, that was him. One of the worst refereeing displays I've ever seen.
Crouch handballed it for their first, Shawcross blatantly fouled Kaboul in the box and our man got booked for protesting.
Then Shawcross blocked a shot on the line with his arm and nothing was called, but Adebayor put the ball in the net anyway.
Great, right? We scored. Nope. Ruled offside, despite being a couple of yards on. <doh>
Then Whitehead blocked another goalbound shot with his hands, before Kaboul was sent off for a nothing foul.

Some of our fans responded to this by abusing a cyclist. Seems fair.

With Rose now approaching full fitness maybe Davies could play in the 3 allowing Dier back into midfield until either Toby or Victor are available again.

Actually Poch looked a little lost on the sideline today.

Well he couldn't crash through the 2 banks of 4 today and his big hitters were not at the races mentally it seems....it was a tough day for him. Our bench isn't a game changer either. Know doubt Poch had a plan...it just wasn't executed

What about the 6 second rule where keepers must distribute from their hands within that time? Is that even a rule now? <doh>

Go the rugby route and have an independent time keeper. When the ball goes out of play, stop the clock and start it again when play restarts. The ref is microphoned up, if he stops the game for a head injury he just has to say 'stop the clock'. It would be started again as soon as play restarts.

When a substitution is made, as soon as the ref signals for a sub to come on the clock could be stopped and restarted as soon as play recommences. The same for goals. Perhaps a trial could be done in the mickey mouse cup or similar. To end the match a hooter could go the same as in rugby and the match would finish as soon as the ball went dead.

As I said at the time, he should have lumped him. It would have brought the incident to light there and then and the ref would have had to take action. Now I guess if the guy gets a doctors report saying he sustained an injury, the FA might take retrospective action, but that doesnt help us, it helps WBA's next opponents. Had he been sent off like he should have been, they would have been down to 10 men without their 1st choice keeper.

Referees are ****....they deserve all the abuse they get for the obvious things they miss.

50/50 ball and Ben Foster would have been eating my studs...a corner and he would have been eating my elbow.

    That's football

The fourth official has very little to do apart from separating fighting managers, holding up a board with subs numbers on and guessing how much time should be added in each half. He should be given the responsibility of checking how long a keeper has the ball in hand using a timer and tell the referee to award the indirect free kick when six seconds have elapsed. That would suffice until the twenty second century when they might introduce technology to do it automatically. They could also bring back the rule that goal kicks ars taken from the corner of the six yard area on the side where the ball goes out of play. This would stop keepers ambling to the other side of the area to waste more time.

Why not use an independent time keeper? It would end the phenonemen known as 'Fergie Time' once and for all.
