please log in to view this image Saturday 25th November 3pm Premier League Wembley Stadium We've had a very mixed week so far, losing to the filth, before beating Dortmund to win our Champions League group. Spursy. Now we plunge into a packed fixture list as we head towards Christmas and the New Year. What happens between now and the start of 2018 could well define our season. Will we be able to cope with the pressure or will we fold and spend the rest of the campaign chasing? A home game against a traditionally tough opponent could give us a good idea. We all know what to expect from Tony Pulis and this season was no different. His side was quite competitive, hardworking and dour, picking up a mixed spread of results along the way. No surprise to anyone, you'd have thought. The West Brom board did not agree. Gary Megson was brought in to assist the manager and shortly after that he became a temporary replacement. A 4-0 loss to Chelsea was the final straw and the Welsh journeyman was shown the door. A bit of a shock or just the nature of the modern Premier League? Perhaps a little of both. Baggies fans grew tired of the lack of entertainment and attendances dipped, despite good results. They saw no ambition, no flair and very little in the way of progress. Harsh? Possibly, but who wants to turn up every week knowing that you're going to be bored? Megson's style is pretty similar to that of the man that he's replaced. He returns to the West Brom helm as a temporary measure, though he'll see this as a big opportunity. The board and fans may not want him in the long term, but a couple of good displays could work wonders. Even if he can't persuade them to keep him on, it puts him in the shop window. Last season's home game against West Brom was pretty much one way traffic. The opening ten minutes saw a host of chances go to waste, but it didn't take much longer than that to find the opener. Eriksen picked out Kane and he picked out the top corner. Seemed so simple. The pressure continued and it forced our second, as an Eriksen shot was deflected into his own net by McAuley. Half-time came and went, but little changed, as Kane bagged another two in the second half to kill them off. The game at the Hawthorns was quite different, despite our overall dominance. West Brom were resilient and even took an unlikely lead, as Spurs old boy Nacer Chadli poked home late on. It seemed like the perfect Pulis performance until right at the death, as Dele Alli leveled up in injury time. Both sides had reason to be disappointed. Alderweireld and Wanyama are still missing, though it seems like everyone else is available for us. James Morrison and Nacer Chadli are still out for the Baggies. Lineups for each side's last league game: Spurs: Lloris; Dier, Sanchez, Vertonghen; Trippier, Sissoko, Dembele, Davies; Eriksen, Alli; Kane. Subs: Vorm, Foyth, Aurier, Walker-Peters, Winks, Son, Llorente. League form: WWWLWL. West Brom: Foster; McAuley, Evans, Hegazy; Philips, Livermore, Barry, Krychowiak, Gibbs; Rondon, Rodriguez. Subs: Myhill, Nyom, Yacob, Brunt, Burke, McClean, Robson-Kanu. League form: DDLLLL. Referee: Mike D... Jones. TV: Not televised. How many changes do we need to make from the side that started against Dortmund? Should we rotate the fullbacks again or did Aurier and Rose earn another go? Does anyone need a rest and, if so, who should replace them?
Spurs to win, but a laboured performance and GF tally to suffer in yet another game of busparquet at Wembley.
Hugo Dier, Dave, Jan Tripps, Winks, Alli, Davies Eriksen, Son Kane Vorm, Aurier, Rose, Foyth, Sissoko, Dembele, Llorente No European hangover like how I did please, lads
Be so nice to get an early goal and then a comfortable 3 or 4 goal win. We know it won’t happen like that though!
I’ll do my best! Probably be a frustrating first half with us looking disjointed and nothing like the team that played on Tuesday night. Then second half the match will begin to open up with us missing a few golden opportunities. Then between 70-80 minutes they will get a corner or foul that shouldn’t have been and will score from it. We will then proceed to have a couple of great chances which we will miss and we will lose 1-0.
More Spurs goals v West Brom: Defoe liked playing against them, didn't he? A reminder that Eriksen used to be able to take free-kicks, too.
Surprising number of similar strikes. And that Bale strike was awesome.... - although he seldom got a simple goal......
Rotated the wingbacks as expected. Very strong team that and im glad he has chosen the midfield three of Eriksen, Winks and Dele again with Son partnering Kane up top. We look so good with this system and especially playing at home against a side that will park the bus it ws the right way to go. . Lets hope we get an early goal because we struggle to score first half goals at Wembley in the premier league. COYS !!
Not included in the U23 squad or the matchday first team 18 squad. Dosent sound good, i hope he hasnt had another setback.
Hoping I’m wrong, but I’m expecting another full bus depot at Wembley today. Don’t expect us to get in behind them, and think we’ll find the central areas very very compact. With the lack of confidence running through the West Brom side, I’m really surprised we’re playing into their hands with a lack of pace out wide.
