"Ndong won’t be ready for two to three weeks. He has a knee issue which we need to get right and we will get it right with the medical team. He didn’t play for Gabon during the international break and had some bad news with his family, but it’s an issue with his knee and it’ll be a few weeks.”
How's he got injured going home for a family death? Strange. Is he one of these with a fortunate 'injury' that will resolve itself for January?
Could be bollocks I suppose but he's never shown anything less than full commitment so far so I'll trust him on this one.
He was still in the Gabon squad though after the Boro game wasn't he? I thought he pulled out of the Gabon squad for family bereavement not injury.
He didn't play for Gabon, though - maybe he just wanted to go home for a bit of sun He was replaced by Honeyman after 55 minutes against Boro. please log in to view this image
He pullout for a family bereavement, not injury. This is why I'm confused, I know he went off with a knock against boro, so why wasn't the injury the reason for him pulling out of international duty? He's clearly returned saying his knee isn't right. But was ok to avoid treatment while away? Just seems fishy to me.
Yeah it is strange why he was allowed to go back to Gabon - maybe that was related to the compassionate leave.
Just think it's strange, Stockdale spoke before the Millwall game and never mentioned an injury, it was entirely mental welfare related given for missing that game. No mention of injury surrounding the millwall game. He may have done something in training but this injury is out of the blue.
