Watched the West Ham v Leicester game tonight, thought it might be a good precursor to a great weekend of football. It's put me off the game to be honest one of the worst games I have seen for many a day, and I have watched Shrewsbury in the past!

The lack of quality in West Ham is astonishing. They were willing, the fans were encouraging but they just couldn't do the basics right. They had one clear objective: to cross the ball to Carroll. They tried all night but simply couldn't do it.

Amazing that a club with such high ambitions is fighting relegation.

I think its amazing that a group of pretty decent technical footballers have been reduced to playing long balls to a target man. To me, a front 4 of Hernandez, Lanzini, Arnautovic and Ayew should be playing pretty decent football and giving teams problems.

    Hernandez is injured.
It's Moye's second game and his priority at the moment is to get points on the board, when he gets them out of the bottom 3 he will get them playing better and have similar results to what he had at Everton.

They've been playing crap football throughout the season. Even when he wasn't injured. It was more of a general point about how their team has been underachieving for the last season and a half. It wasn't a dig at Moyes, maybe you missed that in your rush to create an argument...

Though I'm sure some people will rightly argue that the "when he gets them out of the bottom 3" comment is pretty optimistic, considering his absymal recent managerial record and the fact he got relegated last season.

It’s amazing that people feel caretakers/new manager should put the club on a 10 game winning run. They are here to sort out the dross left by the last guy.
If they do turn it round, then it’s the players.....not the boss.

    He was okay at United.

Relegated a squad that should have gone the year before. As Rodgers stated, his an okay cook....but needs good ingredients

Which is probably why they changed manager, why do you think you changed Rodgers for Klopp. to improve of course but it takes a bit more than 2 games.

Ahh right, it wasn't a dig at the new man after 2 games, just a general observation, OK :emoticon-0100-smile

Okay in the sense that he presided over Man Utd's worst premier league season and took a title winning side from 1st to 7th? Wonder what you'd have said had that been Klopp, Benitez or Dalglish? "Yeah, it was an okay season for them" ?

He managed 24 points in 38 games, that is pathetic and to be fair the same Sunderland had managed to avoid relegation 3 or 4 seasons previous to that, so its not like keeping them up was unheard of, he had a squad of players that were familiar with a relegation battle and how to survive.

Also are we forgetting the fact he dragged a Real Sociedad side that has finished in the top half 4 out of the last 5 seasons into a relegation battle. The only season they didn't (and finished 12th) was the season Moyes was sacked after starting with 2 wins in 11 first league games.

Its a shame for him because he used to be a very good manager (in his Everton days) but he's turned into a bit of a laughing stock after his Man Utd spell, he's not the same guy he was at Everton. He might turn it around but his spells at Sociedad and Sunderland suggest that he won't.

As was pointed out, Sunderland had hovered over relegation for some years, it was always going to happen. Do you think he would have them bottom of the Championship (Rafa managed to relegate Newcastle after others had tried :bandit:)?
Sociedad, wow. He took them 2 places below their customary "top half" finish in his first few games in a league he didn't know.

He was out of his depth at United but could have survived and even done well if he hadn't changed the whole back room staff on his arrival, biggest bollack he ever dropped.
Waiting until January could have made all the difference on his stay with us and made him realise what was already in place to help him.

Dunno, i didn't personally think the sunderland squad was that bad, until he bought in a bunch of no marks (admittedly he didn't have much money). Managed to alienate his best players (kone and khazri) and basically told them they were ****. I know they generally have a good run at the end of the season but they were looking really good under big sam and a key part of that in was Yann Mvila which was all wrapped up until Moyes ****ed him off too.

Now even if he did get relegated, you have a point that sunderland were fighting it season in season down. even for relegation he underachieved though, he finished rock bottom and couldn't get any performances out of his players. Sorry but he has been poor and i don't see him pulling up any trees at West Ham.

Comparissons to rafa are wide of the mark. rafa had like 10 games to save newcastle and no one he bought in. Moyes had a whole pre season and some money to spend
