Unfortunately can't see us winning. Hoping for a point, but with Forster playing like he is I fear a 0-1 defeat.

 

I saw Sky's stat that Saints have had the most managers in the Premier League era. Not a good stat to have given where we are heading at the moment...

 

I'm feeling pretty optimistic, I reckon we'll only lose by 2. And the real problem for me this season is that I don't really care.

 

I think 3 at the back is more sensible and likely. At a push 1 player out of position is acceptable but to base our midfield on 2 CB’s is risky. Defensive mids are not just CB’s a bit further upfield.

 

you are a funny old lot! the only people who think we'll lose are Saints fans! I borrowed my great great grandson's time machine and guess what? we won 3-1!

We played 3 at the back against Wolves, in the League Cup iirc. I didn’t go but by all accounts it was shambolic.
On current form, I think changing the formation is a bigger risk than playing Stephens and VVD as defensive midfielders.
Stephens has played a whole season in that role, I believe, so not a new experience for him, and I honestly believe that VVD could be as good a defensive midfielder as he is a CB.

 

We don't have an attacking midfield so by pass them.

We have a surfeit of centre halves so play them up front.

Forster

Cedric Stevens Yoshida Bertram

Ward Prowse Lemina

Van Dyke Hoedt

Boufal Gabbiadini

**** Tadic he can make the tea at half time.

At every opportunity we bang the ball high into their box and by pass the midfield.

VVD and Hoedt to get into their penalty area at every opportunity and win the ball to knock down for Boufal and Gabbiadini.

This will be our version of hoof ball which I think I could stomach more than the dross we have to watch at the moment.

Let us be big, strong, physical, ugly and bullying.
