    I like that. ;)

I also like the wider possible persective. The same as I've always thought that MLT's genius should somehow be harnessed. But how do ordinary mortals do that.?

Take a look at the Saints Facebook site, they posted a supportive LGBT picture and OMG has that prompted some incredible (not good incredible either) comments from our Morrocan and African "friends".
Make sure you are calm and relaxed before looking

I shall have to have a look at that.

On a more constructive note. As a result of a little chat with TLL I decided to watch the Saints v Aston Villa 6-1 game from 2014-15, yet again [it's been about a year since I last watched it through]. It was Koeman's first season. If you remember, earlier in the season we'd put Sunderland to the sword 8-0, and here are Villa, under Tim Sherwood, who were in excellent form when they came to St Mary's. And by goodness did they get their tactics wrong. Against the present side the tactics might have worked fine. Against a side featuring a fast paced pair of support forwards in Mane and Long, and being led by Graziano Pelle, it was suicide. Pelle won everything aimed at him, and he occupied 2-3 players while doing it. It was like taking candy from a baby. It's a video lesson of the important players we are missing. I love Gabby. He's fantastic, but he's no line leader. He's needs intelligent help from a big central striker. Find some highlights or the full match, if you can. It's a time when Saints were absolutely at the top of their game, and they went into the next season to perform even better. Quite an illustration of how high our expectations rightly became only 3 seasons ago.

I was at that 6-1 mauling of Villa....at one point I asked the person next to me if it was worth sitting down between goals.. :) Those were the days.

It appears to have been taken down shortly after I wrote this I'm not surprised as it quickly broken into our Boufal fans coming out with unbelievable comments and insults versus home fans defending the rights of gay people and then the religious insults started flying. It was an eye opener to put it politely

Always been out there, but social media gives these people a voice.....and the chance to wind each other up into a frenzy. At one time, you could avoid this by not going to pubs late at night. The internet can be a wonderful tool, but it does expose us to knowing how awful large parts of the world are. Some may value the information, but ignorance can make life more pleasant on an individual basis.

It is a fact of life Fran that most people are thoroughly unpleasant and some are even worse.

I've given this a bit of thought since the rise and rise of online social media, and I think it is fundamentally a reaction to real world society. Society demands that we live within a fairly strict social framework, so that everyone can at least tolerate [at worst] everybody else. Yes, it doesn't always work, but we're not exactly fighting civil wars every day, are we. Online, this strict framework is tested by the minute, and has, to a significant extent, fallen away as we seek new framework that works online. This is understandable as people are testing the limits of a relatively new media and real world society is running at full speed just to stop loosing ground because it is still overwhelmed in how it can deal with these hidden voices on the Net. It's also no wonder why the authorities want to control and monitor everything [that has to be strongly resisted] because that is their first reaction to anything which doesn't toe the line. The vast majority of social media [like this forum] is almost harmless. Indeed it brings people together. Unfortunately, for this relative freedom we get the dark underside too. But it has always been there in another form. One could say that social media helps to bring it out into the open.

I would re-phrase that and say that "...most people are capable of being thoroughly unpleasant and some can be even worse."

That covers more bases and yet isn't quite as damming. ;)
