Loved the monkey in the seat belt episode...especially the surprise on the monkey's face when the artificial pee shot out from a tube in his car seat. And when he gave them the finger as he left.
The “Butcher of Bosnia” Ratko Mladic has been jailed for life for genocide and crimes against humanity. On his orders, more than 7,000 Moslem men and boys were murdered in Srebrenica in 1995. Words just aren’t enough for crimes of that nature.
I posted this on the Music thread as well, but it could go here as well: George Avakian, who has been described as the architect of American music, has died at the age of 98. He produced works by, among many others, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins and Dave Brubeck. He also managed Keith Jarrett. RIP George Avakian 1919 - 2017
https://news.sky.com/story/child-tr...ndeer-decoration-in-christmas-grotto-11141205 This is getting a bit silly now. Surely she could have said something to stop him worrying. Having said that we went to a cottage once to stay and there was a real deer head mounted on the wall in the lounge. Just what 2 animal loving veggies want to see! Mr WS covered it with a table cloth for the duration of our holiday.
And as I look for more information on that I see there's been an 'incident' at Oxford Circus tube station. Hope it's not what it sounds like...
I think some parents actually increase their childrens fears and phobias. How easy it would be to say it was a statue of his favourite reindeer. Children are tougher than you think....traumatised indeed. One mother has complained that her son was given Sleeping Beauty to read....apparently it encourages children to think that it is ok to kiss or touch someone without permission...and could lead to inappropriate behaviour. I read the story as a child and understood it was fiction. God, the world has gone to pot. We must stop apologising and kow-towing to these extremely silly people.
I agree but I also wonder how much of it is genuine and not just attention seeking ***** knowing that their crazy stories will get published here, there and everywhere. One things for certain the current media/news trend makes it far easier for the desperate attention seekers to get their 5 seconds of fame.
Yeah, it is awful. It's extremely awful. My first reaction is that 1 person's life has been ended, and all that entails. Just think about that for a moment. It doesn't make very much difference to me that there are another 229+, yet I note it. It's a peculiar thing that news outlets deem that significant numbers of deaths constitute the depth of tragedy. Yes, it's possibly a natural reaction, but I've never quite got that. It's as if, if more than one person dies then it is deemed a greater tragedy. The news outlets seem to imply that it isn't as big a deal if numbers aren't large. It would be a ****ing big deal is if it was just one of the people precious to ourselves or to the writer of the news. I apologise for choosing this time to express this, because each life is very important to someone, and I don't want to cheapen them by making my point. But I've been putting it off making this point for quite a while.
Just watched Nerve (2016) - very silly but a few laughs along the way. Basically about how the anonymity the internet provides gives people a sense of power. 2.5/5.

Ah, you pussy. I spend 8 hours per day, working in a chiller - constant 2C, with occasional trips into the freezer.
