Newcastle United v Watford Saturday 25-11-17 kick off 3pm Sold Out last time Watford was in Toon --- Newcastl 1- 2 Watford 2 goals in the first 28mins by Ighalo for Watford sealed the result with Janmaat getting Newcastle's goal in the second half attendance that day 47,806 including 2,250 away fans now the meaty bit (get your excuse in early) Yet again it seems we are lumbered with another 'Rookie' referee for the game against Watford. Chris Kavanagh will take charge of only his 3rd premiership game with the 4th official being Anthony Taylor at St James' Park this Saturday Last home game Bournemouth we had Paul Tierney (Rookie) with Martin Atkinson as 4th official major talking point disallowing an onside goal Crystal Palace we had Stuart Atwell (back with the select group only last season) with Mike Dean as 4th official major talking point Cabaye should of been sent off Now I know that the ref's wll not gain experience if they don't ref games but the fact is, out of all the refs that can ref our games, there are 6 fully fit more experienced refs that have not reffed us at all so far this season, which is very strange Anothy Taylor, Lee Mason, Martin Atkinson, Lee Probert, Roger East and Robert Madley all with more experience in the Premiership but yet to delight us with their talents (or maybe not) Craig Pawson has reffed us on 3 occasions so far this season thats 25% of all our games - how come note :- in his first ever game he reffed in the premiership, it was guess who -- yes your'e right -- us We said last season it will be good see the back of championship refs but it seem the PGMOL have dragged them up with us why can't these ref Liverpool v Chelsea or the Manchester derby if they want big match experience the reason why not, is because there would be hell on if they made a mistake if they make mistakes during our games it would just be swept under the carpet also and more alarming is that Steve Martin (he of the Forest game ) has been seen lurking in the wings as 4th official in the premiership absolutelty frightening 2-1 to the Toon - nail biting stuff to the very end of 8mins added time or enough time for Watford to equalise
From the lads at nufc.com Jamaal Lascelles and Christian Atsu aren't expected to be available, but Mikel Merino and Paul Dummett could return to the squad after injury. Isaac Hayden serves a one match suspension, while Henri Saivet and Massadio Haidara both played 90 minutes for the reserve side on Monday night.
Great effort Hangman. Pity all match day threads don't have this sort of detail. I see Chippy has inserted an alleged earlier post no doubt to pretend he started the thread. Sad, really sad, by Chippy. Wish that Mackem loving mustard chino wearing 6 fingered I'rn Bru drinker would be reprimanded by one of the Mods for that despicable shenanigans.
Tough game but I hope we stick to 4-4-2 I'm not fussed by who plays as long as Joselu doesn't make the squad in all honesty. Never disliked a new player as quickly or as much as this waster. Take Heardman along instead if you don't fancy Mitro, Gayle or Perez up top but for the love of god he shouldn't be playing with our U10's let alone starting 11 games in the EPL. Oh and Manquillo! Play Mbemba, Gamez, Dummet, Haidara, Sterry, Aarons at LB, basically anyone but him and Joselu.
I'm going for a 2-0 home win here. I have only two memories of playing Watford. The first was at Vicarage Road about 1984 when we threw away a 3-1 lead in the last ten minutes to draw 3-3. Luther Blissett was playing that day, I'm sure John Barnes was. I'm sure we got stopped on the way back by the polis, they thought we were flying pickets The second is from about ten years ago at our place, no idea of the scoreline, all I can remember is seeing Ashley Young obstructing Shay Given at a corner by standing infront of him near the goaline. That was the first time I had seen a player do this to a keeper...its commonplace now.
I'll gladly take the rookie over Taylor, who was very poor in Portugal at the last international break. As Yedlin was one of the most senior players on the pitch for the US, he probably didn't ingratiate himself with Sir Anthony.
right Guys tomorrows game is a sell out but......... I've Just been told by my brother that he cant make it so again, I have the offer for a free ticket for tomorrows match lower level in the Leazes End just left of goal
1.1 and you know what I'd take that just to stop the rot..... Drag ourselves to January and spend spend spend!
Make or break game for this season (for now). Lose and we'll keep sliding towards the relegation fight. Win and we'll pull ourselves back up the league and stay out of the ****e. Sounds like we will have Merino back so that should improve our chances. Will be optimistic and go for a 2-1 win in another tight game.
Just checked the table 4 points away from the drop zone.... Massive game today but I feel our lack of investment is catching up with us hope I'm wrong.
