I said buying Rooney back was a mistake but I didn't expect this. Sigh.

They could do worse and he'd put them right I think.

I know but I meant going back. It's nearly always a mistake to go back to an old club which is why Bale shouldn't come back to Spurs.

We know that absorbing a mass influx of new
players into a squad is difficult unless the core
of that squad is already sound.

Sad to see this happen to Everton as I
consider them a peer club in terms of history,
    financial management etc.

Don't agree with this. If his injury issues get sorted I would love to see Bale back. Indeed he is the superstar that would elevate our team to potential winners of the EPL.

Everton are suffering the result of having too many cooks. There are 2 owners. One knows about managing a football club at mid-table level. The other one knows **** all about football but wants to get his snout into the CL gravy but jump the decade of hard work that it takes to get close to doing that [unless you invest £1 billion in transfers and the same again in wages].

In addition, there is a Director of Football, who has never done that job before. He was a successful recruitment guy at Leicester. That's a role where it is hard to evaluate personal performance. Are you personally discovering great players who are being brought to you by scouts or are you a big rubber stamp? Plus, for him, there's the luck of being in a supportive environment at the right time. Walsh was respected at Leicester as a former 'legend'. At Everton, he's got it all to prove and is just another hired hand.

All of the problems point at indecision. They continued to buy no. 10's to the detriment of the defence and a striker. That's not one person's doing, that's everyone getting their own personal choice in. I think Koeman wanted Gylfi, Walsh wanted Klaasen and Kenwright wanted Rooney. Now, they can't decide who to go after as manager. Talk of Diego Simeone and Thomas Tuchel are Moshiri's unrealistic ambition. David Unsworth, Sam Allardyce and Sean Dyche are pure Kenwright.

Whilst the club lacks a direction it will continue to fail. Appointing Rooney as captain to walk round the pitch doesn't help. They need to forget dreams of finishing in the 'Top 6', appoint someone who knows what they are doing to get them out of trouble and build from there. Getting Coleman back and Barkley out of the club would help. Coleman's a cracking player, a proper captain and Barkley's presence just shows how badly wrong things have gone.

Right now, if it's all left to Moshiri, they could get themselves relegated. Now is a time for calm heads and a bit of nouse. I wonder if that's possible given the mess the whole club's in.

I don't care for Scousers, Everton and especially Moshiri.........so, deflating their financial doping scheme is very enjoyable....plus I'm at home with my youngest, who has the lurgy, I'm recovering from surgery and I'm bored.

I find it interesting and a handy warning that's rarely heeded. Never interfere with an enemy while he's in the process of destroying himself.
Watching what others do wrong is very, very useful. Lots of people had an opinion when we ****ed up, but they don't seem to have learned from it.

Funny how those people all seem to live within 3 miles of the Mersey estuary.

Always learn from your own mistakes.
But far less costly/painful to learn from the mistakes of others.
