    Spot on, Celtic are not good enough to get past the group stage but get millions for CL failure, they regularly drop into the EL which has a far lesser financial benefit but a decent run in that and the extra gate money etc builds up their bank balance, the newly formed club that replaced the old Rangers won't ever catch up in my honest opinion based on nobody being prepared to back them with the finances required to catch and match Celtic.
    Celtic are in a cycle of Scottish Champs - CL group stage -EL but that keeps them top of the pile domestically forevermore.

    they also had to beat Rosenborg & Astana in the qualifying rounds neither of which are total bobbins.
