What an odd place for it to move.

I think it was a cafe/restaurant at one point a while back.

Really? What's not to like? Total eyesore before. Now looks great (but not so great when January comes around obviously). Well done HCC.

The opening of Littlewoods in 1955, back when Whitefriargate actually had shops on it (courtesy of Hilary Brant‎ - Old Hull)...

Public inquiry day 3: Planning consultant for Kingswood developers suggests Albion Sq scheme as currently envisaged would struggle to attract big-name retailers.

Both sides seem to be coming out with some really daft statements at this hearing.

Some expert said not enough car parking. He's right.

He would be if the Albion Street development plans didn’t include a big multi-story.

Yes he said the big shops don't want that. They want ground level parking outside their shops. A multi story there would get filled up with office workers parking for work, not shoppers.

Least the Allams aren’t involved. They’d say it’s be a terrorist threat and start building a big gate.

It’s piss easy to avoid non-shoppers using a car park, you just make it cheap to park for four or five hours and a fortune to park for eight.

Kingswood is free for three hours I think. At least, I think that’s what Asda’s policy is.

The thing that puzzles me with all these squables is that we are told, quite often, that due to internet shopping, city/town centre's are dying with shops closing down and here we have yet more plans for more shops to go with other developements suggested. Princes Quay 2? and I think that even St Stephens are on about a refurbish in the not too distant future. Not sure how all this came about, Kingswood, the shopping centres at Willerby, Anlaby, none in Hessle although Sainsburys and Homebase are not too far away, not to mention Beverley, all have sprung up over recent years and still yet more shops planned, like I say I don't get it.

There's your answer. Multi story car parks are not popular, especially with women.

Sounds like Prinny Quay. Something like £2 between 0930 and 1530 and expensive before and after.
