Think the £30m was additional for last season in the Championship? If you add that to £263 then you're up to just shy of £300m which offers next to no profit over the 10yrs (around 2%) - bang it up to £350m and your profit goes up to around 20% which is way more palatable
The £129m debt was £111m 'long-term' loans plus a 'short term' loan from Ashley of £18m from the 09/10 relegation which he never took back (the loan was originally £29m but he did take £11m of it back the following season). Last season he had to loan the club another £15m which he lumped together with the previous £18m so the loan was reported as £33m (I think that £18m was restructured in some way so either one of his companies took it on rather than him personally being owed it, or the other way around). So basically, he has put in £144m which the club owes him/his companies. I think the £134m to buy the club is correct, so anything over £278m and he's in profit.
He has had 10 years of very, very expensive advertising for **** all. He hasn't done to badly so far, even before he hopefully ****s off for good. Add to that the master stroke appointment of the publicity merchant that was JFK. And the land that he has snaffled for himself at the Gallowgate. Ashley has done alright so far, I know!!
£312 million. Ashley will make a clean break, so no Sports Direct advertising in the ground and the club shop/ merchandising returns to NUFC.
This sounds about right...... You can then add the free advertising. But then deduct the interest free loan which would be about equal. But he’s also been the cause of the club being devalued. He bought a club and it’s declined since. We are bottom table fodder now. When he took over we where top half wannabes. He should take the 300 mill. Get a blowjob from stavely and **** off to that thought for decades. Well worth 50 million in my eyes.
The value of the advertising should be taken into account in calculating what his return on his investment is, although the interest it has saved us is irrelevant now that he's selling up and getting his loans repaid. Perimeter advertising probably worth £2m/per year if it was being sold? But then you'd be factoring in inflation of a couple of percent per year too. I have absolutely no idea how much the land he's snaffled is worth. If he gets £350m I think he'd be happy enough.
If Ashley genuinely wants out he will do a deal. Clearly the chatter about 'several interested parties' is bollocks and Staveley seems to be the only genuine bidder in town. The SD brand is toxic and Staveley will attach a value to it remaining at SJP for any period of time. I'm not so sure that 'her' valuation of that will correlate with 'his' and he will not necessarily see it as a good deal. I think it will be straight cash, even if the payments are staggered and a clean break. If the bid falls apart, Rafa will 100% leave, we will stand an excellent chance of relegation, again, and Ashley will be looking at half the current value of the club if we go down. As stupid and stubborn as he is, you must imagine that even he can see that.
Hopefully our recent run of results will make Ashley more determined to do a deal. If we go down again the value of the club will half and he will have to chuck yet another £30m to get us back up again.
This. And it will. He can whiff a **** storm so it will certainly impact his thinking now. After we get beat by baggies and Chelsea even more so.
nowt we can do about it lads ... here is a good thing to think about the state of football ( leicester 2 c midfield players they had when they won the epl , are now at chelski ) sums it right up. greedy footballers and roman the tosser fooked football in my view ..
