So... Vorm Sanchez Foyth Vertonghen Walker-Peters Sissoko Dembele Rose N'Koudou Llorente Son Obviously if either of Wanyama or Alderweireld are ready, they go straight in for Dembele and either Vertonghen or Sanchez (the club will know who needs a rest most). Development players on the bench. Kane, Alli, Eriksen, Winks, Dier. Lloris, Trippier, Davies all to watch from home.
In an ideal world it would be fantastic to rest most of our first team squad and play a team of youths and first team bench players for the game against Apoel. it would be amazing experience for them playing at Wembley in the champions league and give them a real taster to whats in store for them if they continue to progress. As Blue and White says they will be needed for our last U19 game. Theres no reason why 1 or 2 cant be borrowed and rewarded for this one though. Id love to see Edwards, TOB (if fit), Sterling and maybe Tanganga get a game.
Agreed, it would be great to see KWP, Foyth, Sterling, TOB, Edwards, GKN and a few others of our youth players and younger/underused members of the first team setup get the experience either starting or from the bench. The YCL progression is also important though so that needs to be recognised. A good opportunity for Llorente and the Director of Football to get more minutes into the legs too to help them get back up to speed as we go into our busy period. Keep some of the more fragile and important first teamers off the starting lineup for sure. I wouldn't mind seeing Kane, Alli, Eriksen, Winks, Dembele and maybe even one of Verts or Dave not start. Maybe: Vorm, KWP, Dave, Foyth, Rose, TOB, Sissoko, GKN, Edwards, Son and Llorente start, make it a 4-2-3-1
What an idiot..he does that looking one way playing the ball the other way trick. However who did he think he was fooling when he was 3 yards away from an open goal Bellend
Btw...what's the hold up with being serious about Sessegnon? Give Fulham 30 Mill and get him in...sell Rose for 50 Mill to some mug with too much money and that's that. That lad is going to be a fantastic wing back...one of the best if he carries on at his current rate.
With Levy it was about balancing the transfer books in the summer. So if the DOF is going, then Levy should be doing the numbers now to make it happen.
Yes whoever gets this young kid is signing an absolute superstar in the making and i pray that its us. Spurs would be the ideal club for him too. I still want us to keep Rose though, horrible little git but theres no doubt hes a brilliant player.
The 1st half last night made me want to buy him a one-way ticket to Manchester on the next national express. But in the 2nd half he grew into the game and showed more than a few glimpses of his true quality. Having said that, he'll be 28 come the end of the season with no more than a couple of seasons left at the absolute peak of his game. One more serious injury and he's basically finished at the highest level. Getting Sessegnon in for next season ticks more boxes than keeping Rose does.
Can you imagine if he’d missed? Especially after his “head in hands” moment when Lallana missed that golden opportunity against city.
Wouldn’t you have laughed if he’s missed though..? He’d have spent the rest of the season with ‘****’ stamped on his forehead!...
Agree with ALKM and Hudd on the mass rotation for Apoel, we've topped the group, the result isn't important but the experience for young players and the minutes to squad players would be massive and it allows some much needed rest for key players. Vorm, KWP, Dave, Foyth, Rose TOB, Sissoko GK, Edwards, Son Llorente Gazza, Tripps/ Aurier, Bennetts, Tanganga, Dembele, Shashoua, Sterling
https://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/data/method5/trank2018.html There are still 2 UEFA ranking pts up for grabs which, given Spurs current rankings over the 5 yr rolling window, should not be dismissed out of hand.
As soon as he puts in a decent delivery from his first free kick, the game's up. Apart from being a leftie.......and not bottling tackles......
Are you not up to date on the situation of the U19's? They have to win to guarantee last 16.You have too many of them in the squad.
Eriksen is essentially two-footed but I agree that the other factors are a problem. We could give him strict instructions to pull out of challenges and aim every corner at either the nearest defender or just above the keeper's head, and we should be fine. If the ref missed the fact that Willian leaned into the Qarabag defender before flinging himself to the ground, yet still gave a penalty and a straight red, I doubt he'll notice that a player has shrunk a bit. Or that he swears in Spanish rather than Danish.
