The Leicester City "spiral" watch!

Discussion in 'The Premier League' started by Hoddle is a god, Jan 17, 2016.

  1. I think Real will now fear us.

We could become their bogey side.

Sorry, how exactly did they "fluke" 38 games? Or were they just the best team in the league?

Have Liverpool "reverse fluked" the last 25 years btw? Or have they just not been good enough?

  5. I did say “could,” Bro.

That cleverly prevents Pixie calling “wum **** up!” the minute Real kick another ball in anger.

Lucky Slippy G went over in 13/14 else we'd never get to laugh at Leicester being the flukiest team to win the PL

  7. It’s not so much the run of games, but more the fact that the usual suspects were all equally ****e at the same time.

Most actually describe it as 'the perfect storm'
I prefer keeping it simple and saying fluke.

I congratulated them at the time. Amazing achievement tbf. Shame they've sacked 2 managers and royally ****ed up any long lasting memories. They're just that club that won the league then shafted their manager.

    A real shame.

That, and the fact the runners up weren't quite good enough either.

And nor were Spurs, who finished 3rd, let's not forget.

Yup unbelievable of them to sack Ranieri. He only just won the PL with them. To think, winning the title for Leicester only buys you 2 months more than Mourinho he was doing just as bad but at a massive club and mad dog Roman as the boss, absolute disgrace when that happened

    Yeah okaay Bobby.

What were we that year...probably 20/1 to win the league?

Leicester 5000/1. More chance of finding Elvis or Tupac alive.

Don't bring odds into this. Leicester had to beat all their teams fair and square.

Flukeypool that year not only had all their players firing, no CL footie, Suarez diving all over the show for pens and red cards and kicking the ball into the hands of opposition defenders, you also had the fluke that whichever team you were playing happened to be tired from matches before, rested their players for a cup game (swansea, Chelsea for the CL) or had key players injured/suspended.

Anyway all worked out in the end Liverpool didn't get the flukiest title win award :p

Mate, if Saints ever "fluke" the league, I won't give a **** when normal service is resumed a season later. When you spend a lifetime supporting a mediocre team that, more often that not, lets you down, winning the league is something you never in a million years expect to happen. I'd be banging on about it endlessly, to anyone who'd listen (and plenty who'd rather not).

... that 20/1 was somewhat prophetic ... you finished 21 points behind us .... <laugh>

... yet guess what ... we had the highest points haul of any club in the last 9 games of the previous season ... if we had been one of the big clubs Citeh, United, Chelsea or Arsenal rather than "Little Leicester" then showing that kind of form over that period would have seen us installed as one of the favourites not 5000/1 outsiders ...

... not our fault that the bookies were way out ... us winning it based on that form was statistically more likely than Liverpool in reality ... but football snobbery likes to think that 'Pool actually had a chance ... that despite 25 years of abject failure bar a flukey cup final win in Istanbul where they were mullered for 80 mins but somehow fluked the trophy <doh> ... that was the biggest fluke during the Prem league era ... not our title win ... that was thoroughly merited <ok>
