I've been a strong supporter of Bruce all through, even though he had clear tactical shortcomings. I don't believe the Agent Bruce stuff but I do believe he wimped out in a massive way. That team he put out on Saturday required no thought - he just put out the same as the week before, although this was an entirely different sort of game.
Whatever, he is a coward and we can't be run by a man like that.

I agree that he was so scared of losing that he forgot to think about winning. Could be right mate, could lack bottle.

He was too scared of losing to try to win it. He was scared of changing a side that played half a decent match earlier. He was scared of dropping good players in favour of more appropriate players.

Don't agree with the coward mate.
He was one of the bravest defenders it has been my pleasure to watch. (Put his face where others wouldn't have stuck their boots.)

As a player he was a warrior but he seems to struggle to put out attaching and risky tactics at times. Was good to see that he instilled within the players a bit of his die hard spirit this time round unlike the two last year. It was just finishing that cost us.

This is not a "Bruce out" comment but I said several times after Saturday that we'll never beat Newcastle with Bruce as our boss as he's too scared of losing to put a team out to win, I think he'd have snapped ya hand off for a 0-0 in all 3 derbies. Newcastle were dire first half and were there for the taking. He should have started the second half 4-4-2 and all guns blazing. We shouldnt have lost that game to.a hit and hope team like Newcastle

I honestly think he probably put too much emphasis on the game - overstressing the need and desire for a win.

Don't like Bruce, but that is my thought. Too desperate for this particular win. The players were too tense.

Why didnt he play 4-4-2 from the beginning. ffs we were at home against a poor team the onus was on us and he bottled it AGAIN.

He put out a team which should have won. He is not perfect but I would say it was the players who bottled it

Not at all SSS. This is what I wrote on Saturday......

"Risky selection. IMO he's trying to play it too safe with this team. We are at home FFS, so should be looking to attack the mags. This choice makes me think that SB has 'let's not lose the game' in his head, rather than 'let's win the game'.

    We shall see......"

    http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/77875-same-team-as-liverpool

Putting out the same team as the Liverpool game was a negative move IMO. The Mags came to defend, which called for an attacking Sunderland line up. Unfortunately, we didn't get it....

Bruce is not a coward, and not a manager either.
