Anyway nothing is broken yet, we need to go at and beat Spartan. Going to be a bit of a worry now though.

A draw will see us qualify but Sevilla most likely will beat Maribor so we will have to beat spartak to finish top.

Dropping 6 points against Sevilla x2 and Spartak.

I'm not bothered about finishing top. I also don't want us trying to be clever on the night and hold 1 or 2 goals, we need to blow then away so that even if the come back into the game a draw is all they can get.

I keep hearing rumours of Masch. I know he's old, but that guy would sacrifice his own children to stop what happened last night, and, as has been said, seems to happen each month. And I'd make him captain, because that team needs someone like a Tommy Smith who'd command ****ing fear, never mind respect, from fancy-dans who think they're there for some sort of pretty ballet classes.

Klopp described this as a passivity not character.

Guys sitting back and not continuing with pressing and ball possession.

Is it really decision making or is it seriously chsracter ehich he really doesnt wsnt to say or believe?

In case people forget this was another away game.

    Watford, high press
City, fell apart with 10 men
Spurs, lovren bottles it. Team just fall apart.
Seville, team falls apart as Moreno loses his marbles.

Is this not a consistent theme? Away from home? Teams press on us?

It seems to me this is a serious lack of bottle away. It's not upfront either. The usual suspects are at fault. Away from him some people sit back and let the game pass them by.

Depends how you look at it. Real Madrid will be 2nd in their group, so if we win we cpuld get them. Not really many ideal fixtures

Yesterdays capitulation was partly due to defensive errors but I believe that the main cause was the lack of leadership. No balls. We need a new captain.

Henderson swans around the pitch thinking he's Gerrard MarkII, Gerrard all round better player, better captain and scored goals when it mattered.
Someone should point that out to empty head.

We all know the score.... front 4 decent. couple of young up and coming players, one buy coming but the rest are bang average.

you'd actually feel sorry for karius as he produce one great save, 3 good rush out and clean up and a couple good oh. He was solid kicking too... Then they drop him in it and he has no chance on 3.

Gomez and lovren were fine. Gomez made one error and then dug in.

wijnaldum, henderson, klavan and moreno were pish.

coutinho.. why did klopp push him so far forward second half.. why did he pull mane back to help moreno.. pointless stuff.

We needed coutinho rooted to the centre circle passing it and killing that game with retaining the ball.

every decision klopp made was related to the left back area for me. really ridiculous... We never took bavk control. He keeps saving we are too passive but what does he do from sideline.. surely he has some means to communicate for them to get after it and get up the pitch again.

MITO - do you think Lovren is playing better because he’s on the right side ...? Definitely seems better suited.

not really. it is certainly an issue for him. He's played decent on the right side before

IMO what happened yesterday was klopp instructed a 451 formation in first half with full backs pulled in tight. Gomez was in close to lovren most of the time and salah was RW supposedly covering there. As we were deep and there was lots of cover he could focus on winning challenges and aerial balls and clearing it.

I saw him gambling and winning the gamble 3 times. IF one goes wrong its another disaster.

If we were as open as we can be with both full backs pushed on he would be exposed and panic imo.

He is right footed, he will work better on that side but gomez only wandered once. He then got his head back on.

On the other side you've klavan who doesn't see danger and moreno just wanders off chasing into CM area. he did this 3 times, first half klavan didn't see the danger and moreno was compeltel out of position alomost in henderson's slot. should have been a goal. The free kick given away was the same issue. he cahses up into midfield centrally vacating his position and klavan doesn't cover.

So lovren actually had the simpler job last night and did it well. Give him a deep defense and layers of protection and he can clear it with the best of them.

our issues are stark. brainless positioning and being drawn out of shape opening gaps. players hacking it away and not wanting to get on ball and pass it, players gambling on making an interception rather than standing off and jockeying a player wide etc and finally.... pure utter panic.

We all know moreno imploded last night but we can all be confident its going to happen to lovren again. Its just inevitable.

I was really surprised that he took so long to make a sub when Sevilla started to attack us in the 2nd half. I was thinking after the first goal he surely was going to change things. At least to signal to his team that they needed to control the game and not let Sevilla walk all over them.

he said we were too passive. But what did he do about it? He is not passive on the touchline but surely he had to act. many teams in the premiership know how to defend by putting players behnd the ball. Some how if we get attacked, we seem to panic.
