In one of the papers today it mentions Ashley wants to sell on his own terms which could include an advertising package for Sports Direct. This has been my suspicion all along.
I have absolutely no doubt that Ashley will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory here. Staveley & Co are international business professionals........... Ashley is a fat ****er that dances naked at the company AGM. I have every confidence that he will **** this up by digging his heels in on getting something that is his head will save him a pound, but in reality will cost him millions. The mans a twat.
I see Mike Ashley's dad has spoken about the offer: http://www.skysports.com/watch/vide...le-united/11137347/buik-staveley-trying-it-on
1. You would not expect Mike (or anyone) to accept an opening offer; 2. Making a the price conditional upon the team's performance is a bit cheeky when the buyer's will have control of the team. I wouldn't agree to that and I would be surprised if Stavely expected Mike to. PCP and co haven't done all this work for nothing. Mike has wanted out for years and this is his first credible opportunity. This is foreplay lads. Coitus is likely.
Exactly, I'm sure they are just sizing each other up with these opening exchanges and we still have 6 weeks to the window opens so its not panic stations yet but the closer to x-mas we get and no deal I worry about Jan as without money to strengthen - and will Cashley splash the Wonga if he's on the way out but no deal agreed yet - we could be in trouble in the second half of the season.
Not sure how likely this is but i keep seeing people referring to Abu Dhabi funding Man City's £32m purchase of Robinho on the last day of the summer window, even though they didn't officially own the club until well into September. If we're just awaiting formalities, in theory PCP could make funds available to Rafa.
I keep forgetting about that land behind the Gallowgate end. The club owned that and Ashley took it into private ownership and is in the process of selling it off - is that right? A £50m+? profit on the club, free SD advertising for a decade, and the proceeds from that parcel of land and he's ended up doing pretty well out of the whole NUFC adventure.
Local Council are landlords - club owns the stadium, but not the land, so any redevelopment could only happen with landlord approval
Suggesting he's looking for £350m minimum - not surprised he rejected the initial offer, you're always going to lowball the first one anyway (bit like buying a house) Going from £300m to £350m is about a 16.5% increase so not a stupid one in all honesty Ultimately, he's a businessman - as long as the offer is deemed adequate, he'll take it
If he bought it for £134m plus £30m to clear the debts, anything over £300m is gonna mean a profit of around £150m or more, which ain't shabby. Over the fat slimeball is gonna try to screw them for every penny he can, so I'm not expecting a quick sale.
Where you getting £30m from? I thought it was well-documented that he spent £134m on the club plus £129m in interest free loans to clear the clubs debt. Assuming there's nothing else (which there probably is) then that makes it £263m. PCP's one lump sum offer was somewhere below £300m according to reports so he wouldn't have made much profit at all.
Oh fine, I'm wrong then, I just remember something about him putting in £30m of his own money to clear debts. So he'll make a small profit, which makes it more likely he's gonna work in some deal to leave some of the Sports Direct crap at SJP.
