Bristol City captain Bailey Wright is available to face former club Preston after his unjust two-match ban for simulation.
But Joe Bryan is a doubt after being substituted with a knock in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday.
Preston North End will have Jordan Hugill available again after he missed their goalless draw against local rivals Bolton Wanderers on Friday.
Skipper Tom Clarke and goalkeeper Declan Rudd played in the draw but may miss out as they return to fitness.
    SAM's prediction
    Home win - 51% Draw - 25% Away win - 24%

    Match facts
    • Bristol City have collected just three points in their past eight league games against Preston (W0 D3 L5)
    • Preston won both matches between the sides in the Championship last season, including a 5-0 hammering in April
    • Preston have won just two of their past 19 matches on the road in the Championship (D8 L9)
    • The Lilywhites are the only Championship side that are yet to score a single goal in the opening 15 minutes of a match this season
    • Bristol City have scored four goals from corners so far this season - no other Championship side has scored more (QPR, Sunderland and Wolves also have four)

Urgh - a bad night for us. Shouldn't get too despondent though; we go again on Saturday.

Agree. We will have setbacks throughout the season. Just get on with it!

Yes, just like us at Fulham! Disappointing but we move on.

shocking today, not impressed with Prestons time wasting and cheating like Burton, I left after the second goal went in which I've never done before, however that's only our 3rd league defeat this season and still in the top 6 so that's a positive

Time wasting and 'cheating' should be dealt with by the ref. I wasn't there so would be interested on your take on cheating.

Never mind, we have an easy game on Saturday against Hull! (Tongue firmly in cheek, this is the Championship!)

We have an interesting December, to say the least. Where do you all think we will be on 2nd January?

Consistently standing on the ball for our every free kick should be a yellow card and yet one player did it all the time without even being talked to by the referee. Cheating in whatever form needs to be stamped out and dealt with by the officials or the game becomes a joke. Move on.

That's the point I was making. Delaying the restart is a cautionable offence but few referees apply the law in these instances. But it is not cheating if the referee does not apply the law. And don't start me on pulling shirts at corners etc.

Getting away with cheating is still cheating?

After the way Bradley Wright was treated earlier this month, that panel should sit and decide if their number 9 (Hughill?) was feigning injury on numerous occasions, we all know he was! he gets away with it by feigning head injury so the ref has no option but to stop the game!

I have had a preference for football all my life and it has played a big part in my life, but every rugby game I go and watch lately makes me despair at the game now. it is full of cheats and pussies.

The ref was indeed from Lancashire we had him against Millwall earlier this season gave us absolutely nothing personal view not in favour of having the same officials during the season although Simon Hooper is an exception to the rule.
As for you lads look to slow in the build up in the first half and a bit to much long ball to the Bosnian up front, we got a bit lucky as Woods should have got a second yellow for the foul in the corner.
Any how good luck until we meet again

The ref was abysmal but that's not why we lost.

Credit must go to Preston as their set-up/game plan worked perfectly
