Of course not. Which is why there's a debate about this. Will it make the game less exciting in the pursuit of perfect fairness?
A number of points have been raised earlier about whether or not this particular development is workable. Personally I think there are too many problems with it.

I was set ag as inst goal line technology because I thought removing the resulting debates would dampen the aftermath fun but it didn't, we just moaned about other things.

I like the idea of stopping the clock when the ball isn't in play. The tedious substitutions with seconds the spare, keepers time wasting with goal kicks 5mins into the game, feigning injuries, etc would all disappear instantly. Sounds great to me.

Football is a entertaining sport but because of the football, not because of incompetent referees or cheating (bending of rules) players etc

the goal line technology is almost instant & objective though . Therefore removing most of the arguments regarding VAR since some decisions are subjective plus when is the referral activated.

PS i like the goal line tech since it is simple ,works and is accepted by the players/managers.

Goal line technology does work, but usually either the ball goes dead or is punted upfield immediately afterwards, giving time for the decision to be made. In an offside scenario would it work as well?
Anyway, offside was only invented to stop goal-hanging, does it really make that much difference if a player's todger is offside 20 yards out?
I think we can be too fussy.
Sometimes glaring errors are made, but that can be addressed by better training and monitoring of officials, as JB mentioned.

I've not read back so I may be getting the wrong end of the stick here (shock, horror...<laugh> ). I thought the discussion was about stoppages; stopping the block and playing actual time or sticking with the referees inaccurate injury time allocation

In the future technology will allow players to be individually tracked and offsides calculated automatically. Players' kits will change colour when they are offside so it will be instantly and clearly communicated to everyone watching without delay.

Surely they'll have to wear a hat with a flashing brecon?

Smart fabrics will act like flexible screens. Sponsors will take advantage and have their logos animate during goal celebrations. They'll also have icons indicating things like who's already been booked. Replica shirts will cost €2000.

There are so many strands of conversation going on, who knows what we're talking about? :) I was going on about VAR in offside situations.
I'm all for the clock being stopped when the ball's dead, though I thought that refs were meant to add on anyway for anything beyond a few seconds.
I suppose if they stuck to it religiously the game would probably go on for two hours.

He doesn't want to handle it because it's a back pass.

So he lets it go in instead. <doh>
