I hate this crap, but it can be easily avoided with a rule change.
Officials need to be protected from players and coaches trying to influence them.
It's bad enough at top level, but imagine having this crap when you're volunteering for amateur of kids' games?
The quality of the refs is never going to improve while it's a job that nobody sane would ever do.

What? He doesn't invite contact, he makes it himself. He runs into people and falls over. That's diving.
He did something pretty similar with that idiot Nasri when he faked being headbutted.
They both move their heads in, then he rolls about on the floor like he's been hit. It's cheating.

    Rule change?

They have the power to book players who get in their ear or surround them etc. It doesn't require a rule change, it requires the refs to jointly have the bottle to do something about it, even if it leads to a couple of red cards a game for two weeks.

    It would soon stop.

Semantics ... he gets the ball and heads for goal ... it's either get the ball or get out of the way because I have evey right to run in front of you .. take evasive action or you risk fouling me ... your choice ...

No, that's not what he does and it's not a semantic difference.
He intentionally makes contact with defenders, then throws himself on the ground. It's diving. It's cheating. Stop defending it.
He isn't fouled, he attempts to create the illusion that he is.

He runs across defenders knowing that he is quicker ... it's perfectly legitimate ... if they don't stop he exaggerates the contact, when it does come, and goes down ... avoid the contact, let him take his shot on goal or risk giving away a penalty ... clever tactic ... defender has the option ... got no problem with it ... never seen him do a no contact simulation ... now that really is reprehensible... <ok>

You are slowly getting there but as PNP says he deiberately throws himself into the defender and then goes down. Its much cleverer than a simple dive but it is cheating. Its no worse than a straight dive but it is simulation (just the two act play instead of the single one).

If that was all he did it would be fine. What you are describing is not a foul. BUT what he does is throw himself into the opposing player and then fall over - thats simulation.

Not really (well maybe Fosse). I don’t like that he goes down easy (as most of the time he has the beating of his man anyway) but that it’s a different way of simulation. Doesn’t make it better. The point of speed does make a difference though and is the same for a lot of players.
I made the point of the non-league academy as it’s worth balancing the good and bad. As I said to Ern, I’m sure there’s a side to it where he knows it’s good for his own publicity but it’s still helping others regardless and he’s thinking of his future so I’m not going to critisie him for that and wouldn’t if he played for anyone else. You don’t see many players helping others in any way. Other than maybe Juan Mata with his money to charity thing

Did I mention he was my best man and godfather to my youngest? .. No? ... that's because he's not ... but just as ridiculous as your post ... he's a Premier league footballer and therefore 'more likely than not' to be something of a twat ... none of us have claimed anything different ...

Many players do actually do their part for charity/ charities outside of their club obligations. Some just get more publicity for it than others.

Maybe, I’ve not seen proof of this though. Can only go on what I see. All I’m saying is I wouldn’t defend Vardy for what he does do wrong. He does get a hard time because of his background though. I live in Sheffield and a lot of them look like that and most talk funny so it’s not really his fault. I’m sure I’d probably dislike him if he didn’t play for my club and can’t say fairer than that really. Alli is a complete twat of a player and human being but as a spurs fan, he’s your twat. Same with Vardy
