Nope, says a man who is currently involved in a discussion between Spurs and Arsenal supporters who cant agree on split second pictures of off-side or not. Will we be happy with someone else's decision based on the same pictures?

 

Offside isn’t a judgement when you have technology. There is no argument? They put a line up (can even make it a 3D line these days) and if any part of the players body that they can legally play the ball with (everything other than arm and hand) then they are offside. Whether it’s marginal or not.

Stick a 3D line on it like sky often do and it’ll show you easily. The technology is there.

 

Also first one yes because you can see his chest is ahead.

2nd one, you’d need the camera angle to straighten to see if his body/head is further forward or not. Looks like he is but as I said, move the camera and stick a line on there and will know for ceetain

 

The thing is, whatever system is used will be open to getting it wrong sometimes. Will it bring a fairer game overall?

I agree 'leave the game alone', but this will arrive in the Prem. sooner or later whether we like it or not

 

But the technology is not on the pitch or in the players/officials heads. This is a game played by humans, FIFA 18 would probably suit most these days.

I have seen so called experts arguing on football programs with all the technology available, do we really think all will agree with a camera refs decision?

 

Fair enough if you don't fancy him (don't think you are getting anyone better). Martinez wasn't great imo and even that first season he did well but didn't manage to finish top 4.

No, but will it get more decisions correct than the current system? The 'experts' can then argue if the refs decision to review was correct .......and on

Yes they are both miles offside. You can score with your head, shoulder, or chest.

 

But it also wasn't potentially a £100m decision back then.

 

The offside situation in the game will be a contentious issue for years to come......until one day maybe you get automatically lasered if you

Because they are trying to appease supporters, the current edition of "any scoring part of the body" is only of any use in the six yard area from free kicks, it is a total farce from 20 yards out.
