Wasn't that impressed with Rak Su last night. Not really a rap fan. They all seem the same to me - a little bit of familiar song then same old jabber jabber. I think that, like Grace, they are better with their own compositions
All the rage interspersing songs with rap now (says the nearly 50 year old), so I did like Rak Su, but I wasn't that impressed with any of them TBH, I could only just about tolerate George Michael songs when he was singing them, so I guess I was a little harsh from the start this week. I liked Holly though.
Must admit I wasn't a GM fan either. Last night was a joke. Bloody choir boy wins the week. No X Factor there. I wonder who's turn it will be next week Surely Sam has to go next The format is all wrong. What is the point of looking for someone with the X factor and then making them sing unsuitable songs. What's your name? Frank Sinatra. OK well we'd like you to sing Great Balls of Fire, off you go.
Saturday was double elimination. As expected it was goodbye to Sam and the young duet. It was a cakewalk for Rak Su who were brilliant with another of their own compositions and probably a future No 1. Can see them going odds on (currently Evs). 1/20 for top group. Can't see many bookies taking large bets on that. Talk about easy money. Getting serious now Evs Rak Su, 3/1 Grace. 6 points on Rak Su and 3 on Grace gives 12 points return for 9 points outlay (ie 1/3 either one to win). Seems a pretty safe bet to me
We are at the stage where, as Sharon said "drop the Mike" to Rak Su. Seems hard to imagine them being beaten, but that said I think everyone knows they (RS) are going to be the ultimate winners even if the don't win the completion (think One Direction). Can't believe Holly is out, although she didn't have a good week again. Tough night. I can't see beyond Grace and Rak Su
Agreed. I thought Holly might go out, but hoped she wouldn't. I'm afraid she hasn't progressed at all and song choices have been disastrous - recipe for elimination. Can't wait for choir boy to go. There simply is no competition for Rak Su and Grace; the others might as well go home. Wouldn't surprise me if choir boy made it to the final 3
Yeah, the choir boy is like Rydian but not funny; so not great watching, and I agree there will be a lot of old ladies in the valleys dialling him in
Celebrating my birthday today with a meal at my daughters. A Wycombe Wanderers birthday cake too. Grace, Rak Su and Kevin through to the X Factor final. The house erupted when Kevin was announced as the 3rd finalist. What started off looking like one of the crappiest X Factors has ended up with one of, if not the, best X Factor finals ever. By that I mean the best 3 acts are in the final and they are all very good. Current odds Rak-Su 4/9 Grace Davies 10/3 Kevin Davy White 7/1 I need to look at my fictitious bets to see where I stand. Early bets 20 Grace at 5/2 returns £70 if she wins 14 Holly at 4/1 - lost Last week 6 points on Rak Su at Evs returns 12 3 points on Grace at 3/1 returns 12 Total 14 points already lost 23 points on Grace returns 82 6 points on Rak Su returns 12 So, if Kevin wins I've lost 43 points If Rak Su wins I lose 31 points If Grace wins I win 39 I slipped up last week in backing Grace and Rak Su against the field. Nothing wrong in itself but I forgot to take into account what I'd already invested in Grace. Big mistake. Fingers crossed for Grace but expecting this to be a losing year. I could minimise my loss in the event Rak Su win but too tired to think about that tonight
Yep, ****ed up. No easy way out of this . Should have had my brain in gear last week. The easy money 1/20 Rak Su to be top group was just that - easy money. A grand on that would have been 50 in the bag which would have made it more comfortable Can't believe I got myself into this position - "twat" springs to mind
No. I don't think he will win. I slipped up over not ensuring a loss if either Rak Su or Grace win. So I'll just grin and bear it and hope Grace wins.
Grace was amazing last night. I am really looking forward to tonight's final. X factor has gone up a notch this year - and it needed to IMHO.
I think Grace's Too Young to Know Better was a contest winning song by it self but Rak Su have such a following and I think they are the best group of that kind I have ever seen. It was a foregone conclusion, much as I like Grace. I'm sure both will have hits.
