I'd love to see Webber back on the top step (naturally) of the podium. it just sucks that he has come into a bit of form as soon as his car lost its form. So i've gone for Alonso on this one. Cue frowny face expression.

Spa will have one DRS zone... on Kemmel straight..... please log in to view this image I think this is completely ridiculous and DRS overtakes will be similar to those seen at Turkey. I like seeing overtakes but when a driver is a full car length ahead going into the braking zone, it becomes impossible to defend and too artificial. My own observations of DRS is that when the flap is first activated at a low/medium speed, DRS is not very effective (Australia, Monaco, Hungary). When the DRS is activated at high speed, the DRS is very effective and overtaking is sometimes too easy for drivers (China, Turkey). Not only will the DRS activation point at Spa be high speed, but drivers will be using DRS for long periods of time. I think the FIA could have chosen more sensible places to put the DRS zone. A single zone halfway down Kemmel straight would be much better. They could also do it on the pit straight, because not only would it also allow drivers to close the gap and present better opportunities to overtake on Kemmel straight, but drivers are usually close coming out of the final corner anyway. Alternatively they could have had a double DRS zone before and after Pouhon. As the FIA have not officially confirmed the DRS zone, I hope that Maldonado's race engineer is misinformed.
Weather for the Gp weekend. http://www.zoover.co.uk/belgium/liege/francorchamps/weather Said to be cloudy on Friday and Saturday, cloud and sunshine for Sunday. Have to wait a few more days to get a BBC view of it...
Isn't it hard to pass into Les Combes? I think the DRS zone is just about right as the car behind will lose downforce through Eua Rouge and drop back a bit so activating it early is a good thing in my opinion, but we will have to see whether it works in 7 days...
I'm hoping the race stays dry with spots of rain to spice things up during the race. To add to my point about DRS, I can't understand how it could be allowed so early on Kemmel straight. Either the activation zone is much later on Kemmel, or Charlie must be smoking some good ****. Also wtf? PMC, once DRS has been activated the closing rates of the car behind have been ridiculous at times. To have the activation zone so early on Kemmel straight would (imo) make the overtakes happen on the straight, rather than into Les Combes.
Well at least the Red Bulls will have a chance to overtake a front runner now lol, with that much DRS...
Agree about DRS, I said earlier in the week I hoped it wasn't on Kemmel, farcical decision. It's going to have a negative impact on the racing, no DRS would've been better.
Well I think with the downforce lost this year car's will drop back a bit through Eua Rouge making it just like Spain but hopefully better than Spain as the drivers might get brave.
who ever gets pole needs to scamper off then, otherwise they could be easy prey once DRS is activated.
I agree that the DRS shouldn't be on Kemmel -there's already enough overtaking there anyway- but it shouldn't be on the pit straight - the straight isn't long enough to be effective. I'd like to see it after turn 15. there's a few twists before the braking point to make it not too easy to pass there but it's long enough to make passing more easy there.
Yep, that makes it best to put the activation point just before Blanchimont and then enable overtaking into the Bus Stop.
LOL, if the DRS zone is on Kemmel, there will be plenty of overtakes on the first lap, that will be brilliant to watch on the tv, one queue of overtakers and one of overtakees, may even see some double ones Anyway, who do you reckon will gain an advantage here in terms of straight line speed?
er manny... you can't use DRS on the first two laps. As for the straight-line speed advantage it definetly won't be Red Bull. Wouldn't be surprised to see FI up there.
True, well after the first two laps, if the cars are closer together my points still stand in a way lol Yes FI will be well up there remember 2009?
