Just had a read. Interesting to see the Wilberforce Suite is now the 1904 Suite and that after AP providing it free and that continuing when our benefactor came in to give the city a gift and inforned us football should be as free as the air we breathe he brought in a price for tge facility they couldn't afford. Typical City reading the article, under the ITV initiative clubs involved youngsters, the future of a club whilst we went for the oldies. Maybe youngsters would have been more interested in things other than leaky rooves and people standing up.
Whenever I go away there is a very large proportion of older fans who sit. We just dont seem to have the numbers regularly of younger louder fans that other clubs have. Fine for a one off Yorkshire derby but not regular
Either we have a larger proportion of older fans or older fans elswhere are made of sterner stuff. All the ones I know in their 60s who still go all stand up.
I know an advocate on here of standing whose Mam and Dad sit during away matches when he is not with them.
I know what you're saying mate, I've been stood in front of guys half my age and had them whinge that they'd rather sit than stand - I'm guessing most of them are the nu-fans that we've acquired since our move to the KC.
More than other clubs with bigger followings? Always found it surprising inthe PL that the 3,000 available tickets found their way into the hands of fans of other clubs who all stood up and vociferously supported the team when they have crowds of 50,000,60,000 or 75,000 so more applying for them whilst ours found their Way into the hands of so many who wanted to sit down contemplating the stars of the other team, asking them for a wave whilst they snapped away on their phones. Arsenal and Man Utd are two prime examples. Sedate atmosphere at home games yet all their fans at away games stood up in contrast to them at The Emirates and Old Trafford.
