Fascinating little heat this Steel Plate and Sections Novice Chase - a race which has such a rich history. At the weights and the prices I quite fancy Movewiththetimes to frank the North Hill Harvey / Sceau Royal form. Some very smart novice chasers already out this season and I agree with Sir Barney that William Henry could run a very big race for the 11th richest man in Wales <ok>

If he can give the weight to these Gaz he will go pretty short for the JLT I reckon - maybe into 3s or 4s if he does it well.

Wow, see how he picked up again when headed. Very smart indeed. Alan and Anne Potts will be smiling down on that.

There will have been a missed beat or two at that first fence ... but class tells.
    An interesting race to watch.

As with all his top young horses, Tizzard will be taking the long view and I think the JLT this season and then the top staying chases in 2018-19 will be what they are thinking with Finian's Oscar. The RSA is a very hard race and leaves its mark on many a horse and I think they will want to avoid that. Plenty of speedsters in the 2 mile novice chase division this season and he could be vulnerable to a slick, quick jumper, so to me JLT is the most likely target. No doubt it will be discussed all winter <laugh>

Could he be CGC bound this term if Sizing John is unable, for one reason or another, to defend his crown??? If recent history has taught us one thing it’s that you shouldn’t be afraid of pitching a novice, if good enough, into a top class ‘open’ chase. Don't get me started on that 'numpty' of a race 'The Arkle'. Still can not understand how the best horse in training in the UK last season ended up running in that rather than a championship race- be it the Champion Hurdle or Chase.

What happened to William Henry??? It just states N/A on Sporting Life.

Jumped horribly and the saddle slipped. X-rated stuff if I'm honest.

Steering problems SBC - Davey pulled him up. He was jumping out to the right so they think there were tack issues.

Thanks. Providing he is OK then it might be back to hurdles for him.

The cross country races can usually be a bit of a "filler" race, based on the domination of the JP horses - but not today, great race to watch and a nice winner for the Scudamores, Kingswell Theatre.

They're backing Calett Mad off the boards here. Strength in the race in opposition though, particularly the bottom 3 on the card. Should be a cracker <ok>
