Barbara Wilkinson will have been shocked on behalf of her members by all those people standing up, especially in the South Stand.
it actually does - I've done it If you are a higher- or top-rate taxpayer, you can claim the difference between your rate and the basic 20% rate of income tax. This can be done through the self-assessment system or by asking HM Revenue & Customs to alter your tax code. In this case, you should keep records of your donations for at least 22 months after the end of the tax year in which they were made.
Well that isn't a surprise if you sit in the south stand is it. Each to their own. When I sat in there with my two boys the South stand couldn't even get a song or chant going to..........................................................................., wait for it .................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. support the team
I like standing but to be fair you buy a ticket for an event that is sold as all seating. If you then decide to stand up and spoil someone else's experience you really shouldn't be surprised if they object. You wouldn't do it in a cinema or a theatre. Safe standing areas are clearly the way forward but standing up doesn't make you a more worthy supporter.
No no don't do that i'm seriously ill not sure if i will see the week out. all the best and die when you want DOCTOR i'll have you know Allam
The point is though that other clubs have far more people who stand up without it causing the complaints and moaning it does amongst our fans.
Agree with this. Some people like to sit. I do, as standing in one place for long periods gives me lower back pain. It never stopped me singing or shouting encouragement (or abuse at the opposition). In fact I'm a right loud ****. I used to do South stand seats at Fer Ark, which cost me a quid, so in fact I was supporting the club more than them plastics in Kempton But seriously, why there's so much fuss about standing and being a 'real fan' I don't know. Maybe one of you lot could explain it to me? Seriously, why does standing make you a proper fan? Oh and by the way, if people stand in front of me, I stand, no problem. I'd just rather sit.
Because it ****s everyone off. It ****s the sitters off that people stand in front of them, and it ****s the standers off that they're always told to sit down (which without a doubt ruins any chance of an atmosphere or noise being made). It further ****s them off that something they've done for years without a problem is now considered an offence and really anti-social. As a stander, I'm ****ed off by the fact that as a kid, yes there were some away games where my view wasn't the best with people standing in front, but no one expected everyone else to sit down for me and it was barely a problem at all. I used to stand on my seat when this happened. Problem solved. It's even more off-****ing when you consider that this whole stupid situation around standing has come about because of Hillsborough and the Taylor Report even though the disaster was nothing to do with standing. Because of this legislation based on a criminally inaccurate, covvered-up version of events at Hillsborough, clubs aren't even allowed to take a common sense approach and divide ticket sales between people who more and less likely to stand. So every away game you get this mess where someone wants to sit and someone in front wants to stand.
The 'mess' at away games happens for one reason and one reason alone - some sitter decides he wants to sit at the back, knowing full well that there will be people who want to stand who will have seats lower down who might obscure his/ her view and then they spend the whole game getting their kicks from complaining to the stewards that they can't see - they could easily have purchased a seat lower down but that way there is no-one to complain about so it would be a **** afternoon - I'd be surprised if they see more than half the match because they'd spend half their time looking at someone's back and moaning and the other half moaning to the stewards - they should get a ****ing life
I agree with everything you say but, with us being outside the PL sitters v standers should never be an issue - all it needs is for people to use some common sense, I haven't been to every away game this season but the ones I have been to we haven't sold our allocation, sitters should go to the front, standers should go behind them, it's not rocket science. Over the last few years I've seen arguments on the lines of 'this is my seat and I'm sitting/standing here' ...... we really do have some ****ish supporters of both sitting and standing varieties.
